The Ultimate Fallout 4 PC Build
Okay, so lets start a debate on what the best PC build would be to run fallout 4 on ultra with no lag.
Edit: Now lets debate on what would be the cheapest, best build. Go to PCPartpicker.com and make your cheap builds and post them here.

Short: Bigger is better.

Long?
CPU Intel Core i7-5960X
RAM, DDR4 3200 128GB, half for the game running, and half for the ramdisc.
GPU a fast one with 8GB HBM. DOES NOT EXIST YET, but should be released soon

I have zero lag with an 970 extreme, 8 core with an SSD, and 8mb of very fast ram...the rest of these mopes just dont know how to build or optimize.

Doesnt exist. I lag with my 980ti in the cities to 50-60fps. Im maxed @ 1080p. Im locked at 72fps (half my 144hz)

Does Fallout4 support SLI? If so i guess another 600 bucks would solve my problem for frame drops???

But if I were to play the build my dream PC to play Fallout 4 itd be:

some z97 board, 4x 980ti's , 32gb of RAM, 1500w supply and the latest series of i7 intel chip. With the quad sli I could safely go to 1440 I assume maxed out

+1 to this

Liar. Post a video of you running around Fanueil Hall with the FPS Counter visible and set to a 0.1 Seconds refresh. All on Ultra, especially the Shadow Distance.

My build is gonna have a Intel i7 4790, will I have to overclock?
if you want to overclock you need 4790k. my laptop maxs at 3.6 so i would say no. don't HAVE to. cooling very important.
you'r laptop probably doesnt have the Desktop version?

the title of the thread kinda says it all.........

ultimate is best...... if you set a $$$$ limit it would be different...

5960x
128GB ram
2x intel 750 PCi-e ssd's in raid
4x titanx's

all watercooled.......

simple

if it was to a price point that would be different...

I run a4970k @ 4.7ghz
32GB DDR3
2x sli 780ti's
and run my games off a 1tb samsung 840 evo

i play at 1440p and it ran the game well (i havent played since november)

Okay, so lets start a debate on what the best PC build would be to run fallout 4 on ultra with no lag.

The key would be to stay away from AMD products, Nvidia and Intel seem to be best suited for this game.

Yeah no, when you build PC's you can make a PC better than anything you could buy in a store.

Well done.

I bought my custom pc 2 years ago. 1700 USD.

I am playing at 720p, 60 Herz, 2 screens, native res 1366x768. I play my games on one screen and usually stream sporting events, netflix or PressTv on the other, at the same time. Sometimes up to 4 sporting events at once.

My fps is a constant 59-61. If it's dipping under 59, I don't notice it.

Gigabyte UDH5 z77 motherboard
i7 3770k oc'd to 4.6
2x EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SC's (no SLI while playing F4)
8 gigs RAM (I want more, but no urgency yet)
Corsair 650 watt psu
I have a couple of ssd's for a total of 1 tb

I play on ingame settings, high, godrays low, hbao off, weapon debris off, all the sliders in advanced options are set about midrange.

I have no issues with overheating. my pc is completely air cooled.

edit: Forgot to mention that when I let F4 set my graphics...it went ultra. Game play wasn't that great, got a lot of stutter.

Rant on !

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I've played computer games since, well, the beginning of computers. The top AAA games are ment to last for a couple of years. I'm surprised that in the case of F4 you can even make a home system that will play it in ultra. Previous years,( most people playing this game were still in diapers ), when a AAA game was marketed it took about 1+ years for the next generation cpu and gpu to be marketed before you could even think of getting the settings beyond medium. This generation that grew up with computers needs to put their collective feelings of entitlement aside and figure it out (but then again with the type of complaints I read on here I don't hold out much hope for that). This is all marketing to get you to buy the next biggest and bestest cpu and gpu in order to get the best graphics. You aren't ment to be able to run F4 wide open for at least another year. So GET OVER IT FOR CRIPES SAKE ! You aren't going to get it to run full ultra and stutter free until the next generation of graphic cards. (then you can drop another $1k and probably still complain its not perfect)

Rant off.

This is not true,i perfectly run this game on ultra with 60 fps, without any mod or any touch in the ini.ive TITAN GC with 32go ram,SSD in raid, intel 8 core i7 4790k 1500w psu on a asus max7 formula.I dont even use 70% of my GC and 50% of my cpu.

This key is not true, one of my boxes is all AMD and it runs FO4 just fine with ultra everything in 4k. Not a hiccup. 4.3GHz 16GB R9 290 4GB
