Where is the Mirelurk queen?

If I want to fight the Mirelurk queen, do I need to do a certain mission or can I just go and fight it? Also, is the Queen located at the Castle where all the other Mirelurk's are?

You can find a few scattered around the wasteland. Yes, you can find a queen at the castle as well without having to do any quests.

Do you know where abouts in the castle? I killed all of the minions and I've been to the top, in the center and in all the rooms and I can't find it.

The mirelurk queen at the castle should appear when you have killed the mirelurks in the courtyard. I have triggered it before bringing the minutemen there. But after I killed the other mirelurks, I continued to dsstroy the eggs. You might have to go up on the walls to trigger her. That is where I always am when she arrives.

Souteast of Poseidon Energy (Not sure)
SouthEast of Costal Cottage (Respawns)

Don't worry now. Turns out I had missed a mirelurk and when I killed it, the queen appeared. Thanks for the help.

I can confirm that the Mirelurk Qeen at Murkwater Construction Site respawns. And apart from that i think they are random spawns near water areas. Also there is one at Spectacle Island near a Bobblehead. I think the Queen only spawns once you activate the power near the bobblehead, but im not 100% sure about this.
