Please help - I want to play Fallout 4 but I keep getting a display driver crash. Every 2 minutes or 20 minutes, Fallout 4 will randomly crash and a notification will pop up in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

This is the exact message I am getting: https://gyazo.com/7c876682b9f6b94127a88d19020beed4

This crash is getting very annoying, and I want to play a game that I paid 60 dollars for. If anyone could please help, I would be very greatful.

PS. I have tried many solutions, here are some that I have tried:

Waiting for next patch update from Bethesda.
Verifying game cache.
Re-installing.
Adding a key in regedit / graphicsdisplay
Changing optimization settings in NVIDIA GeForce experience.
Rolling back drivers.
Messaging NVIDIA (They said that I should roll back drivers).
Updating drivers.
Changing 3D settings in NVIDIA control panel.
Running ccleaner
Launching Fallout 4 in safe mode
Giving up. (but fallout 4 hype was too strong)
Considering burning computer.
Pray to Jesus.
Curse Bethesda & NVIDIA for this evil crash.

Here are my computer specs -

Windows 7 Enterprise
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz ~ 2.67GHz
16.0 GB of RAM
64 Bit operating system
DirectX 11
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
1920 x 1080 (32bit) (60Hz)

This is a Windows feature called TDR - Timeout Detection And Recovery. When a driver goes into an "infinite loop" (it's busy doing or waiting for something that will never complete) the display device may become busy and does not update the display, making the system appear to be "hung" when it actually isn't. The OS detects this condition and resets the driver and display device.

There is something the game is doing or wants done that's inducing the behaviour, but it's not the game's fault. Something is wrong with the driver itself or the hardware.

If you are overclocking, reduce to defaults. You can also underclock temporarily for troubleshooting purposes too.
Reinstall/upgrade/downgrade drivers.
replace the Graphics card.

Yes, I figured that my hardware was faulty.

That is one strong possibility with this type of problem yeah, but how did you come to that conclusion?

Your card is not that old, I'd assume it's still under warranty. Why do you get a replacement?

Every time I have this problem it was because my card was getting faulty and I had to send it in under warranty for replacement. I have gone through 3 cards like this thankfully I have lifetime warranty that carries from replacement to replacement.

I had a EVGA GTX 970 last year and after a few months it started doing this. And at first I figured the drivers where just broken, and well, they where bad at the time but might been the card too. Either way, after trying to fix it for a few months I gave up and RMA'd the card. I sent it back to the retailer and they sent me a new card of my choice of similar price. I picked the R9 390 8 GB from Sapphire instead of an Nvidia card. Very happy so far.

That said, in Fallout 4 I get some weird artifacting on some effects and textures, and since it works fine in all other games I think its game and and maybe driver issues not hardware this time, we'll see...

it probably got fixed by now... but from my past experience the kernal drive crash is cause by bug/glitches in the update... so what you want to do is to do a clean uninstall of your graphic card and download the patch from before the current dated patch. Basically keep rolling back until you find an update that doesn't crash. Also turn off auto update if rolling back worked.
