No tatos in workshop
All of my settlements have only corn, mutfruit, and tatos planets at them. All of these resources have settlers working on them. All of my settlements have supply lines.

Despite that, whenever I go into workshop mode, I have no tatos whatsoever, despite having over two hundred pieces of corn and mutfruit stores away.

According to the wiki, this is a known issue. What I'd like to know is if anyone has a solution for it, other than manually harvesting them.

Just plant tatos everywhere. Nevermind mixed crops and a healthy balanced diet, these silly settlers only want to eat tatos.

just take them off the plants. they will respawn. as long as you have a settler tending them

Yeah settlers seem to consume tatos first. I wish they would consume melons, useless crop.

I have all 4 crops in my settlements but no supply lines and I get all 4 crops in my workshops.

Make sure you have more tato's than settlers because it seems they use them before any other crop.

Remember 2 plants per settler.

Tatos are actually Tomacco: http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Tomacco and your settlers are all addicted.
Two plants produce one food, except for mutfruit. One mutfruit produces one food.

I'm trying this and it still doesn't seem to be working, even in settlements that I've just started and have no other food source other than tatos.

Also remember if your supply lines connect settlements then tatos grown ANYWHERE in the supply chain will be consumed before any other food.

My advice, plant as many tatos as possible, kinda ignore the mutfruit and corn until you do like a1fox said and plan out the 2 tato plants per settler, for ALL your supply line connected settlements.

He was reffering to food consumption, not food production.

In my last game I had enough crops going between all the big farmy type settlements to make about 200 corn, mutfruit, and tatos, which was about 60 starch every production cycle.

Okay I'll go around and plant more tatos at the other settlements.

Just plant a gazillion tatos and never mind that those ne'er-do-well lazy settlers pick them up for you. Instead, every once in a while gather them yourself. In fact I never notice any good surplus of anything accumulate in the workshop, I just pick everything in person when I need it.
Blind Archers Feb 23, 2016 @ 5:57pm
Well putting down all those extra plants finally paid off. I actually have a surplus of tatos in my workshop now.

Good :)

You are catching up to what I discovered a few weeks ago, lol.

Once you figure out settlers will eat Tatos first, then figure out they eat ALL tatos within a connected supply line, then lant enough extra tato plants you can finally get to the point you cna bury yourself in vegetable starch, lol.

I think my high level game I had like 10k adhesive.
