Cutting fluid

I have just tried to make cutting fluid , however when i make one the next time i try to make more , the game removes two of the ones already made, maybe a glich, so basically evey time i try to make the fluid i only end up with two no matter how many ti,times i press enter, need some expert help asap

I'm surprised this went unanswered for a long time but hopefully you figured it out. It sounds like you ran out of steel.

Since cutting fluid is a junk item that drops in your inventory, it contains 1 Steel. To produce cutting fluid you need 3 Steel and the last place it's going to look for ingredients is in your inventory.

I bet you had 8 Steel available for crafting ... After you made the first two (consuming 6 Steel) you only had 2 Steel left, so when you made the third cutting fluid it used 1 Steel from the cutting fluid you just made, thus creating it and removing the other cutting fluid and you stopped at producing 2 cutting fluid.

Hope that makes sense but before you confirm the crafting, check to see what ingredients it's going to use for crafting and you should see "cutting fluid" under the Steel ingredient line.

I had the same problem. A quick fix is to just grab a bunch of steel from your workshop (the basic resource, not items containing it) and you should be good to go. If need be you can take items from the workshop, drop them in the world, then scrap them as you would anything else in building mode. Hope this helps, if you havn't found a fix for it by now.
Or (even though this method takes FOREVER if you can make a lot of cutting fluid) create one, exit the chem-station, enter it again and make another one.

Even though it broke down the cutting fluid for the steel the 3 oil from it should still have gone in to the workshop.
