I heard that the disk had like 5 gbs of files on it, and that the rest would be the download. So, just to clarify: I do NOT need the disk, right?
Also, If I have the key for the season pass, can I activate it on steam without the game?
in ur case, the disk is the *initial* installation source
nowaday most games employ online approach to deter piracy
if the game disk stated u need online connection, it's likely u only need the disk for initial installation
otherwise, u may need the disk to startup the game, which i believe no modern games employed such approach anymore
even if u need the disk, what's the problem? u likely need it for 1st installation, but u can't use it on next usage if needed?
This was the biggest cause of arguments when FO4 was announced, Gabe had to take to twitter clarify that the disc just contained 5gb and was a total waste of money and you still have to download 20 odd gb of data

At least GTAV had 7 discs and a measily few gb download, rather than a 50+gb.
I don't care that it plays on steam, but i've got nearly 3TB of games on my rig and regardless if i had a constant 20mbit per sec it would take a week to fill my library etc. A LOT quicker if i had 95% on disc like GTAV was.
