Or at least it does for me.
Instead, you can assign settlers and companions to beds so that they know it's theirs.
Or you can block the way to your bed in one way or another so that the settlers can't figure out how to go to your bed, and as such will not bother trying afterwards.
The bed at the Home Plate in Diamond City and the room in Vault 81 are the few guaranteed beds that the Sole Survivor can gain access to that are all his/hers so there are no worries about finding Marcy Long in either of those beds.
