Tab Key (Pip Boy) not working

I can't get the pipboy via the Tab key to work. From the very first time loading the game it hasn't worked. Turning the steam tab on and off has no effect. Logging out and logging back on and even rebooting the computer have no effect. And yes, I am using v1.3.47.00 of the game.

The same thing happened to me when i first got it. From what i understand its the steam overlay, just go into it an come back out, should work, as it does for me. An any other buttons that dont work do the same.

Not quite sure how to fix this, as I never had the problem other than the Steam Overlay.
Have you made sure all of your controls on the keys/controller are what you want them to be?
Or perhaps verifying the game files? If so, then I can't think of another resolution.

It's not the steam overlay, I have turned that thing on and off a couple dozen times and no joy. I also assigned it to the F1 key and pause to the Tab key just to make sure the Tab key works. The tab key does work, it's the pipboy not working regardless of the key.

Try alt-tabbing out.

I've had it happen when wearing the Cameleon Armour.

Fast travel somewhere and see how it goes. Or, try one of the other keys, such as 'I' or 'M'

No, alt tab doesn't work, uninstalling and reinstalling the game doesn't work. I have submitted a formal request to Bethesda for support and am very unimpressed by their response, which was essentially to look at the FAQs, which I already have.

Hit the Esc key a couple of times. My whole keyboard is disabled ... well except the Esc key.

im experiencing rthe same issue.....just dl'd game yesterday....restarted few times in an effort to resolve issue.....came to boards to see possible fixes.alt tabbed, no love....

Does your TAB-key work at all? Do you have anything running in the background? ...

Assuming you havent changed the controls?

Hit esc/settings/controls
Just hit esc to exit back out of the menu and try hitting tab then.
Have had it happen a few times and that normally works.

But if it still dont work,
While in game unplug the keyboard & give it a second for windows to give the dropping tone.
Plug it back in after that & you should hear windows connect tone.
Now try the tab key, should work now.

If one of the two above worked:
Let me guess, its a Razer keyboard and you have Synapse loaded?

If it still does not work.
plug the keyboard into another port, preferably one thats on a different channel.
i.e. if its on a USB 2.0 port, use a 3.0 port, Back pannel port, use a mid-board or front port. etc
There is a known issue with some USB controllers.
NFI any fix/workaround for it?
Never knew about it until I bought a VR headset.
It may only effect headsets, but its worth a shot.

Steam overlay thing, do shift tab then esc, then it should be fixed idk
