Transferring mods from Steam to GOG?
There's gonna be a current-gen update next year, I think we can safely assume that mods will break to account for a version update.

Because of this, I think it'd be worth asking how abouts one would go about transferring all their mods from Steam to an offline version of the game

I dont have fallout 4 on GOG, but i see no reason why mods would not run there

Only problem is the SDK, i guess as modder you are forced to have it on steam

doesnt matter if its fallout on steam, fallout on gog, on moon, or on another universe, you put your files in fallout4\data and they will all work as the same.

Sadly, some modders have added a thing so some mods won't work unless they detect Steam somewhere. I hope modders will change that for GOG versions. My game is Steam, but I do prefer GOG for all my games.

Which mods would those be? Because that doesn't sound like something that is even possible.

Can someone explain to me what GOG Galaxy's "Import Folder" does? I don't have the GOG version installed, but does importing a copy of FO4's Steam install allow me to get GOG-specific files without having to re-download the whole game?

You should just download the different client's version, to be sure that it works on that system.

Get it on both if you really believe there's going to be an irrevocable apocalypse of mod-breaking. There won't be, there'll surely be an interruption. But the best way to be sure that the files work in the location they're in, is to download them legally by the right client's system.

For me I think I will just remove all the mods and re-download them again next year. A number of them are outdated because they were last played in 2020 and I only came back because of the Fallout TV Series.

Its what i do this moment.
I played around 2020 with mods
Started a few weeks ago with the old installation (My modem was death, so i only had my Mobile phone with very expensive and few downloads)
And now i reinstalled the whole game clean and start to install only the mods i really use
But that sounds by far not so painfull as it is, i started 3 Days ago and my new setup still runs not 100% as wished, well, i merge some mods to raise compatibility

Well I hope you keep backups cause there isn't a guarantee that they will still be available.

Can't seem to access my Steam saves on my GOG. Any idea where GOG handles game saving? Cuz it's not the same directory as what the Steam version uses.

Simply doing that just seems to cause the game to install. May have to reinstall mods one by one, but GOG version should be a better starting point than the current gen update.

EDIT: simply stripping down the amount of mods I have loaded into the game also seems to just cause crashes. I may have to start from Point A with mod loading.
