Is there a mod that makes Boston less ugly?
My biggest problem I have with this game, (besides other things I've said) is the design of the buildings and houses. I understand that they try to pull the vibe of the futuristic 50's vision, but it's pretty over the top and not part of the rest of the world, Boston feels like a setting for The Jetsons. Previous games had a simple but visually pleasing design, even Lucky 38, which has an exaggerated design, belongs to the setting. Even 76 has simpler but beautiful constructions.

I just want to know if anyone knows any mod that changes these buildings or simply deletes them, personally most of them have nothing interesting and only make the game have performance problems.

I've tried to look for something like that, but I come away empty-handed.

Nobody has bothered to outright replace buildings entirely because the process of doing so without breaking absolutely everything is enormously painful.

Retextures are all there is.

Well, that's a bummer.

The best I can suggest is that there are some very good green mods to bring back foliage. In 200 years, the East coast would be a giant forest again. If you can't make them look better, then hide them behind a forest.

That's a good alternative.

From the author..

"Sadly it has been left unfinished but the project is more than enough to use for a playthrough. There won't be seamless overgrowth but it will be nearly perfect."

It is possible to improve the appearance. But there are limitations on what the engine can do.

There were some early unfinished mods that tried to make Boston look prewar. They looked a lot worse than the postwar versions. An example -

There is also a mod that removes all the trash, wrecks etc. But that leaves gaps in the terrain and floating buildings.

So the best you can do is apply some texture mods, add a vegetation mod plus a reshade or enb.
