Sometimes moving them to you then using conosole command disable, then enable, will debug an npc.
Thanks for the link to the Murphy quest and tip to disable/enable.
There is something that happened to me which made one of my games super broke. I had already gone through much of the main quest, maybe even all of it, before exploring all of her dialog. So a long-time played game file, then I hit the dialog option which she gives that STARTS YOU TOWARD DIAMOND CITY.
This breaks everything. I'd already found Nick. Couldn't initiate the Nakano story because it kept trying to send me to the fens sewer to rescue him.
so... it's possible that something like this happened. Since you say you don't have any mods - do you mean ACTUALLY *no mods*, or "some stuff from the in-game menu from bethesda" and *no* mods from nexus?
The only mod I have in Creation club, though it's not downloaded or installed is the Skyrim helm and sword that was probably some kind of free thing at some point, who knows when.
I haven't taken Nick as a companion at all, though I did take his case of Nakano, went there, went to Far Harbor.
