I didnt "shame" you I called you a weirdo for playing Mortal kombat to look at tits, which you are, and the so called "civil discussion" was being called an animal ♥♥♥♥♥♥
if the issue was with the writing of the show chuds wouldnt be complaining that vaults shouldnt have black people in them or that the lead is going to be a "girlboss mary sue" (nonsense words) with literally no proof besides the fact that a woman is the lead.
also, complaining about the writing in a TEASER TRAILER is worthless nonsense
guess what buddy, Fallout has always been political, and its never been political in the ways you want it to be.
by thinking their beliefs should be the same belief by everything ever made, and any variation is an attack on them. these people forget fallout has always been a more left leaning series in the first place
They already said in an Article that the Groups will be looking for a McGuffin, so that alone is not a good sign. I have gotten so sick of these Bad Writers constantly going with the Mystery Box approach to Story Telling. I just hope we also dont get the tired Trope of Girl Boss as well. Time will tell though.
and you literally just defined what you assume the people you disagree with mean when they say "woke"
now you were a bit reductive there, since under that definition, pretty much every show or movie could be described as "woke"
and your next definition:
is the same as the definition of progressive
so why not just use the word progressive? since then you can differentiate it from the word that is being ambiguously used a slur
also - if your adversaries are using it to mean progressive - then yes, Fallout is progressive
however.....
while i disagree with many of the assumptions made by the OP - they do spend time describing their definition of "woke"
and it is neither of yours
it is the more commonly used version when discussing modern movies and shows, where there has been a growing trend of poorly written characters, interacting in unrealistic ways, with often mean spirited or hostile overtones, and attempting to deflect all criticism of these things by declaring themselves to be champions of diversity and inclusivity - and casting anyone who criticises them as being opposed to these things
that is closer to what the OP was describing as "woke"
and with that definition Fallout is not woke
but it is obviously and unashamedly progressive
and regardless of any of this - no one has any idea about how the show will present
we have all seen the same 2 minute trailer
which showed us very little
- There is a female vault dweller
- She exits into an unfamiliar world
- She is warned by someone that she must adapt to survive
- There is a ghoul
- There is a dog with a severed hand in its mouth (hopefully a harbinger for an R rating)
- There is a cyclops
- There are vertibirds and power armor
- There is a bunch of shooting and action
and that's pretty much it
i do not think we even heard Walton Goggins speak
i do not think we saw the female vault dweller do anything much at all
basically f-all happened except splashing lots of stuff at us in the hopes of getting us excited
and i am excited, when before i was less so
if people want to come up with their theories based on very little information, assumptions and preconceptions then that's up to them
but in the context of what the OP described as "woke" - neither the Fallout universe or the show look woke (with much evidence for the games, and what little evidence we have for the show)
progressive yes - lots of evidence for the games - and why would it not be for the show? we live in an increasingly progressive world where most rational people just want to live and let live and not have the activists and the haters screaming from all sides about how anyone who does not entirely agree with them is the enemy and how everything is an example of one extreme or another
anyway - like i say - the OP did give their definition of "woke" - so that was the main one i was using when relating it to Fallout etc
if you want to use woke to mean something else then by all means - but you would need to be specific about who you believe is sharing that definition with you but arguing from the opposing side
so - who's psyched for the show? ;-)
I very much am. No matter how many people who want me to hate it because they do and are sad and bitter.
but it seems sillier to get all hot and bothered about it sucking before we really know anything
i was trying to avoid looking forward to it - since i did not want to risk being disappointed - and before the trailer i was fine having no expectations either way
but then i watched the trailer
and dammit now i'm excited lol :-)
gonna go watch it again now and see how it is second time around :-)
(also - really glad you fixed the quote ;-))
and avoiding all further trailers
(also - is that kid walking behind her at the beginning the kid out of Ender's Game? the kid the main kid got in a fight with?)
and plenty in the trailer to hint at it being R rated
Fallout meets Deadpool meets The Boys lol ;-)
I dont think anyone should feel silly if it sucks, its just disappointing if so because we all know it has a lot of potential. I think regardless they got the look right from what we see. I really do hope it turns out good, because Amazon is also doing WH40K and I really want to see that they can start treating these IPs the way they should.
like a water chip?
GECK?
Liam Neeson?
Platinum Chip?
Shaun?
;-)
nice :-)
not a big follower
but it is some cool stuff
and so many different takes on games
pretty psyched to see that one :-)
