About the Triangle of Death:
Now I'm pretty sure by now fellow players know about the Triangle of Death (Sanctuary, Red Rocket, Abernathy Farm). You build too much in one of the settlements, especially Sanctuary, ctd. Try to load in the settlement, ctd. Try to even get near the settlement, ctd. I just want to know if there's really no fix for this, not even mods?

Like does expanding the settlement build limit do the job? Or scrapping everything from one of the settlements? Like dam I just wanna have a Sanctuary City in my playthroughs, out-city Diamond City.

I don't build in sanctuary. I forfeit it to the rabble.

I've never even heard of this being an issue, despite building in those 3 areas pretty extensively, to the point of having one or another of them as my primary base in a few play throughs.

If you aren't using kinggath's Workshop Framework + Workshop Plus I'd install those plus the Unofficial Patch and F4SE. They include fixes to the vanilla game logic. They might help, they might not.

But I have never experienced issues in the area despite massive builds in all settlements requiring increasing the build limits. I have even used Annex The Commonwealth which make huge increases to the area covered by these settlements without crashes. And scrapping mods, place everywhere and ini changes that disable optimization code.

You could try increasing the script time and memory allocation in the inis too. See the linked page below.

Thousands of hours on a cpu from 2011. So I think it just could be pot luck.

I've overbuilt all three of those and never once had this problem *specifically because* of their proximity. The persistence of the idea that those particular locations are somehow worse than any others that are 'close' together, I don't really understand.

If you REALLY overbuild, overdoing it with your mods, expanding boundaries or using some certain mods that affect those areas, this is always the risk. It doesn't matter which settlements you build.

I've had that tato plants broken/repair bug at Abernathy first play-through.
I solved that by re-seating the tatos soon as i got workbench on the next fresh run, they seemed to be sitting higher and they haven't bugged current play-throughs.
Never had the triangle thing but am aware of it.

Triangle's never been an issue for me. Hangman's Alley legitimately causes -20 FPS but a palace in Sanctuary is fine.

if u can pinpoint which settelment causing the ctd, u can use mod workshop framework to remotely scrap the settlement, then try approach the area.
if no more ctd, then bite the bullet rebuild that settlement.

Is often the problem. If you're using a current version of it, it's bloated and rotten, so. There's that.

Never heard of the "triangle of death". Usually build alot at sanctuary and red rocket. Not so much abernathy. Never had any issues.

You would have to overbuild to an extreme degree to see the triangle of death effects in an unmodded game, and even then it would largely be limited to Sanctuary and Red Rocket, since Abernathy Farm is too far away at normal distances to be within range of both the other settlements at once.

It's alleged to be a much more significant problem if you've modded the game to increase the amount of the game world that's loaded all at once.

The only times I've had issues are with mods that literally are either overlapping with vanilla or placed SO CLOSE between two vanilla that the numbers may start acting wonky. One of the fun ones I'm using right now, Railroad Town, is situated directly under the Tenpines hillside. I also had chosen a tenpines mod that slightly expands its boundaries, and that was enough to cause some things to be overwritten when I started scrapping down in RRTown. (nothing important, a tree or something I missed, but it did definitely make me aware that the two were quite close.)

Another area is the Drumlin Diner, which is between Abernathy and Starlight Drivein. Again closely situated to one's build area, and worse if you also add the Wicked settlement right there.

There's a reason I'm making a Settlement Conflict Map.

And re: the cell load I imagine that would be a disaster for me, because wow I do build things that would be... difficult for my lil' ol video card to process all at once.
