Nuka World and Preston Garvey (spoilers)

If I avoid entering the museum at Concord and instead 1st beat Nuka World and turn commonwealth settlements into raider settlements, if later I become tired of the raiders and raider settlements will I still have the opportunity to become the general of the minutemen?

If you join the raiders you lose Preston as a companion, but remain general of the Minutemen

I mean at the start of the game what if I avoid entering the museum to help Preston and instead beat nukaworld and make raider settlement in the commonwealth. Will I later be able to become the general of the minutemen?

In short answer yes. Preston tells you he wont respect you but he will look at you as the general.

Will Preston force me to do open season and would completing open season allow the option for Preston as a companion and allow me to start the minutemen main quests?

All I’ve done so far is picked up the laser musket in front of the museum and never entered the museum, am I still good to complete Nuka World, assign raiders to commonwealth settlements and then later side with Preston with no problems?

you're still good enough to complete nuka world until you have achieved what ever you want to achieve as overboss.
once done you can enter the museum, escort the sancturay 5 to sanctuary... than preston will complain... and demand that you go and cut ties.

thats it, cut ties... not even wipe them out.. just make them hostile to you.

be aware, turning on the Raiders will mark Gage also Hostile... and unlike Garvey he can and has to die during Open Season.

If you want to keep him you have no choice but to resort to Mods.

The Minuteman ending is like doing the Yes Man ending in FNV, nothing but short term feel good ending that doesn't address the real problem.

Because, according to wiki, you should done the Open Season (which is kill every named raiders, including gage) to make Preston talk to you again..

that is unfortunate... in all my previous runs it was sufficient to just make them hostile... guess i need to check that in my current game were i am at a similar situation.

though, it won't change much... once the raiders are hostile there is no other way but to wipe them off the map.

so, yeah, about that, after making 3-8 raider settlements in commonwealth, preston stop talking to me, how to make him can talk to me again, to make his radiant side quest comeback alive ??
