About mod authors?
Do they do paid requests? It's easy contacting gta v mod authors for mod requests on the gta 5 mod website, but it seems like whenever i ask on nexus forums nobody responds back. Is it because there are less mod authors for fallout 4?

Probably its more about
* A moral code. Fallout modders that want to be paid are not on nexus, they are on the Betesta side where you need to pay for mods
* Most people have absurd ideas what a fair price would be, modding needs time, and wer speak about hundrets if no thousands of hours for many mods. So what do you expect for 50€$ ?

Tell us what mod you want and then we can speak about facts

Its the enclave settlement pack from fallout 76... I'm planing on doing an enclave settlement build at vault 88.

And you ask them to use foreign models they have no rights on. To understand that right, a set of enclave Models for a workshop can easy cost far over 20 000 €$

Holy cow!!! That is alot for a mod. I wouldn't ask mod authors for request then, but i do donate to mod authors every couple of months if i see something of my liking just to help them out.

If you just need stuff for personnel its already out there. Get good at paintnet and tweak it to your taste.

I wasn't to keen on America rising since it does make some edits to the main story. I do like some of the assets they created though. If you see the walls and door in pic 13 that's what i want to make a enclave settlement at vault 88.

I looked and they are in the data folder of 76 as ba2 texture files not loose files. Use the bethesda extractor to break them down to dds which are the textures that go over the objects in fallout 4. There is a long list but it breaks down by actor. I dont have any of the enclave stuff so dont see it in mine.

As a mod author myself (not fallout, different game) ive done requests for free cause they where small jobs and most the other authors iv'e come to know are simular, bigger jobs they will require some sort of incentive usually, ive never done those types of jobs myself.

Personally im a bit tired of the "you cant charge for your mods" rule, especially after seeing so many companies take good mods and turn them into paid content the company makes bank on,.... i guess its good at least Bethesda is willing to share some of that with the actual modders, Keen software isnt so nice....

I'm not so keen on the current creation club content, but if Bethesda ever did import some fallout 76 like the enclave workshop pack into the creation club then i would consider buying it as my first purchase and be a very happy customer since those fallout 76 packs look really good. I'm don't like fallout 76 due to it being an mmo that i mostly avoid.

So have a copy of 76 to do this?! Seems like it will be difficult to do since I'm no expert. But thanks for the advice. See if i can find a video guide aswell.

I wonder how much it'd cost to commission a companion mod on the scale of Lucien or Inigo...

Since you can't legally 'sell' them, nothing.

I realized "oh but it takes time and effort" yes it does.

That's why it's a hobby. I'm not sure where the "20 k euro" thing is from, but that's ludicrous, it'd be mainly for a license and no one - literally no one - buys a license to do these rips. Modding is and has always been a very murky grey area, particularly when taking things from one game or format and putting them in another. It's *not* legal to do so, you realize. When you buy a product you are - tacitly but not enforced - agreeing not to decompile those files. That's what most are doing with say gta or cyberpunk assets.

Most people who work on their own models or textures have access to plenty of resources for their tool sets. Those aren't cheap or free, but they aren't 20k euro worth either.

If you mod for free no one cares (except some companys like the one behind Warhammer) but as soon as you take money you need to pay taxes, and suddenly it matters a lot

Just remember why the Fallout 3 mod never have been released for fallout 4 (copyright for the sounds)

Right, but it's still not legal to SELL them.

You can ask for DONATIONS, it's a loophole that so far in however many years people've been modding games has been left unclosed. But it's still not a good area to make lapses in judgement and openly charge for things that you legally can never ask for money.
