Pip Boy not equipping, what to do?

I have been trying to start a new run on fallout 4 but I have been having a problem where the pip boy refuses to be equipped, I can equip it but when I close out of it, it goes back to the skeleton arm, I have tried multiple different solutions but none of them have worked so far

If you're using any form of "alternate start" mod, or ANY kind of body alteration mod, check those for bugs or issues.

When you say "you've tried multiple solutions" we don't know what you've tried, so please be specific about your mod list, mod LOAD ORDER, and what you have done to try and fix the issue.

skeleton arm? what, you mean the first animation? played when you first obtain it?

or..

you have a mod that makes your arm skeleton? maybe that causes the conflict..

or

is it just a figure of speech and you mean a normal arm with no pipboy?

I am pretty sure they mean the skeleton that you pick it up from. Their comment bumping a 7 year old thread seems to say that.

Yeah, it was when you were first obtaining it, for whatever reason it wouldn't let me obtain the pipboy, however I've uninstalled fallout 4 as a whole
