You Are Exceptional
I released my first mod about a week ago on The Nexus, called "You Are Exceptional". Getting attention for it is difficult, so I thought I'd try here, since I think the mod is more stable than ever, especially after I updated it a bit ago.

It's a skills system that completely redoes all Perks in the game, and adds over 220+ more of them. It's a spiritual successor to "Be Exceptional" and "You Are SPECIAL" (hence the name), so if your familiar with those, you kind of know what to expect.

The more attention I get, the more feedback I can get, and the better I can make the mod.

Ok I just downloaded it.
When it asked me about file conflict between one of the requirements (perkpointperlevel) and the main mod I clicked load main mod after.
That seemed like modding 101 but just in case its wrong pleaselet me know.

It's described on the "Requirements" next to it, but you don't actually "need" Perk Points Per Level; I just put that there to give them credit for the original mod. However, my mod comes with it's over version packaged into it (with it's over Perks progression +1 per 5 levels), that should overwrite, that's the conflict.

Alternatively, if you don't want the bonus Perk points, you can just delete it from my mod (You Are Exceptional\F4SE\Plugins) and it will have no impact, other than losing those bonus points.

As for mod load order, yes. You generally want the stuff to be overwritten ABOVE the mod that overwrites it. I have the details of this written on my mod page, under "Mod Installation".
ok started a new playthrough with this now. I will just jump in and see what happens.
I have 327 mods enabled right now but none influence the perk system (the one I had, i disabled)
learning the system is part of the fun. :)

It will be interesting seeing my mod work alongside 300 others. I tried to be as compatible as possible, but I had to alter Perks and food.
Ok it definitely compatible with fast Start New game by SKK and Cheat console too. ( I added and subtracted some special points via cheat console to check)
So far no issues with my 300+ other mods but I barely started yet :)

Looks great and very professional like it could have come from the Devs themsleves.
And close in Spirit to the original FO1+2 as well.

I knew about SKK, i recommended it on the front page, haha. It's not compatible with a lot of the more popular Alternate Start mods though, due to my scripts firing the same time they do, apparently.

There may be some minor issues with FPE ( family planning enhanced) which gives you perks and one of them I quickly set and it did not show up.
but I will test their functionality quickly to check if the perk still works.
(I dont need to see it listed just know that it works)

EDIT: even the perks from that mod still work fine.

If it's a completely unique Perk that the mod gives you as a passive things in order to make the mod work, that should be fine. I directly alter all vanilla Perks, which obviously doesn't include new ones provided by other mods. However, if another mod has Perks and doesn't immediately give them to you upon loading the mod or through some other activation (food, chem, holotape, etc.) you wouldn't be able to access them outside of console commands, because Perks in general can only be learn via LevelUpMenuEx, which sets itself to my Perks List upon loading the game.

Perks can easily be added to that list, but you would have to make a patch that places them on the FormList that contains them (it's called "yaePerks").

The FPE perk still shows up on my pipboy list so no worries. :steamhappy:
I been playing it and ir's great but i noticed something off-putting and I am not sure if a bug or a feature.
"you've allowed yourself to become infected by a wasteland mutation This prevents your perfection of other talents".
Or some such message plays freequently about every 5 minutes of playing time.
EDIT: The growl and message come as fast as one per 1-2 minutes now.

But I cant find a record of this in my perk or skill dex.

Also the message seems to play quite often .
Am I getting corrupted all the time or is there a bug?
Have not found anything in the MCM to untoggle on this either,

I cringe whenever someone calls anyone a `god`. I think it's a huge mistake, even as a joke.

Anyway, the mod itself looks ok.

Which version did you download? This was an issue where the Ghoul mutation message got connected to the Vampire's sunlight weakness. Basically, instead of the game saying "your being exposed to sunlight and dying", it's saying you've mutated while in sunlight. This should have been fixed in v1.00p

BTW, I just released v1.00v a bit ago. I'll try looking into this tonight, but i'm pretty tired. We'll see what happens.

Edit: I couldn't get glitch to happen with Ghoulish. I'll need more information, and what version your using.

Hi,

I am on 1.00s
I will download 1.00v in a bit.
I dont recall choosing any vampire perks or ghoul perks BUT when I tested the system i used console to add 3 levels and once I did that, some perks had shown up in my perk window as already having been chosen.. I will check if any ghould or vampire ones were in there and post it up in the morning. :)
