5 minute long load times
Any time I exit a building and load into the commonwealth the game will literally take up to 5 minutes to load. I installed the game to an SSD and even got the High FPS Physics Fix mod. The game hits 100 FPS when loading so the mod appears to be working but for some reason it still takes AGES to load.

computer specs otherwise 5 minutes means nothing. For all we know you have a dual core cpu, a 1660 ti gfx card and 8 GB ram.

fixed my problem, I installed a mod called Load Accelerator, alongside High FPS Physics Fix. I was worried they would conflict with each other but so far its working

nowadays I use Long Loading Times Fix https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/73469 from the author of High FPS Physics Fix. Load Accelerator served me well in the past though.

if you have a ton of saves, delete some. Also, make a fresh save every time instead of saving over old saves.

any computer can handle fallout 4 surely can load a location in far less time than five minutes. nonneed to scrutinize the detaiks with system specs.

I would suggest that physics fix but you opted it out. And this is strange. Only thing i might be think of that you use a mod with a heavy script, which takes time to fully activate.

That said, papyrus scripts use seperate threads and can losd at backgrounds while you play. that's why something gets delayed sometimes. this is pretty strange.

I couldnt help, but just thought out loud. I'll follow this thread to see how it's gonna result.

thats very similar to my rig and my load times are seconds.

The reason the loading screens take so long is because loading times are related to frame rates. The higher the frame rate you get, probably in the hundreds when the screen is blank, the slower the load, because the game is prioritizing frame rates over loading. Capping your frame rate will help, but Load Accelerator simply drops your frame rate and has the game prioritize loading when the screen is blank.

Load Accelerator won't conflict with anything, it's a simple mod. I have heard that it causes memory leaks, but I have never had that problem. All you have to do is turn the game off every six hours or so.

Don't worry guys I have it fixed now :) thanks for all the replies though. I did have an odd experience where I loaded into the prydwen and it was as if the map didn't finish loading, with a bunch of objects missing and strange lighting. Restarting the game fixed it and I haven't had that happen since so I think it was just a freak thing.

Thats no bug, thats zigarette and coffee time
It helps if there's no animation in the loading screen. Why alt tab sometimes works.
