Need help with the Armorsmith Extended mod.
I have installed the armorsmith extended mod, and it works, except for one thing. When I go to make an armorsmith work bench, it does not allow me to. I see the armorsmith workbench in the settlement building ui, but there is no icon, and I cannot place it. What can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance.

First off, what version of Armorsmith are you running and did you do a manual install or use a mod manager.

If you used a mod manager such as NMM, then it should have notified you that it requires at least AWKCR v 1.86 to run properly.

Additionally, if you downloaded any mods before Autmaton update, make sure they were not disabled as Bethesda disabled all additional .esp plugins when the update went live to make sure they received a clean beta testing result without mods. Was referenced on the Armorsmith Extended homepage. Make sure you do not have a cloud storage as multiple locations of Fallout 4 will overide itself at times prioritizing certain settings over others.

Finally, make sure you have the archive invalidation properly set up in the Fallout4.ini section to

failing that deactivate the mod, find the relevent patches if your using sk or homemaker, patch. then reactivate and reinstall the mod. when i have an issue uninstalling then reinstalling allways works with mods..

NMM has failed to extract the Workbench meshes from AWKCR. To fix this, you need to manually place the AWKCR Mesh folder from the AWKCR zipped folder, into your data folder.

if you (or anyone) is having trouble with mods not installing meshs and texture be sure that NMM is installed on the same drive that fallout4 is on

theres a multi drive option in NMM though

You use an zip file program such as 7Zip and select the file you downloaded and then hit extract to the target location. It will then uncompress all the data from the file to the new target location. In this case you would select the manually downloaded AWKCR folder and then move it to the Fallout 4 Data folder manually.

When you open the file with the extraction software, you should have several options. one of them is to extract it. Select any and all files you want to extract and then hit Extract. Once you do, you should be given a directory asking where you want to extract it to and navigate to the location of your Fallout 4 Data folder which can either be on your primary drive or underneath My Documents/Games/Fallout4

Where did you get the file from and what exactly are you trying to open. If you're doing it properly there's no way you should have an error message. If you do, then the most likely explanation is that the file you downloaded has an incorrect header in which 7-Zip is unable to read. Try another extraction software instead and see if that works, a lot of other ones will ignore wrong headers. My suggestion is WinRAR
