Automatron robot mods question!

Hey guys, just got the new DLC, do I have to keep the new mods I collect in my inventory in order to be able to use them on ada, or once I've collected them do they always appear in the workshop even if I don't have the mod on me?

Not trying to spoil anything so I will be mega generic.

If you complete the Atomatron story you get all of the robot mods without having to hunt for em.

Once you collect a mod, you learn the recipe. You can hold on to that specific part or store it in your workshop to use it without having to craft a new one.
