Automatron DLC - Glorious Bugs!
Such is the way of Bethesda that when they release something it's filled from top to bottom with bugs that should have been spotted during the testing phase by playing the game for five minutes.

- Sentry legs for your Robot makes it so it can't follow you through many area's indoors. Noted, moving on.
- Sentry legs makes it so your Robot can't get out of the robot workbench, due to the sheer size of 'em.
- Robots in general cannot fathom a way to get out of the robot workbench.
- Assaultron head laser can cause a lighting bug where everything keeps a red-tint forever, requiring reloading to a previous save. (Which cost me two hours of my life)
- Robots in General tend to have a hard time finding a path indoors, while you stare at them with fury and screaming "Move here".
- The eyebots launched from an Eyebot Pod sometimes can't find a path, leading them to just stand in place and hover indefinitely. This requires you to destroy them, and pull their corpses away manually.
- Robots themselves seem to get glitchy from time to time. When I first encountered Ada, she was a bugged mess. She'd keep glitching out and dropping from the air. At one point she just got slammed into the air and flew off. I was left there staring in disbelief and slowly crawling over to her with my backpack full of glorious junk.
- Not sure if it's related to the dlc specifically, but with the Robotics Expert perk I can just go into aim mode while pointing at a target and it lets me hack into Robots from the other side of the room.

More bugs soon.. Now to go back to that Curie mission.

This is accually part of the downfall of them, its completely know and it even states when building them that it prevents movement in certain areas

That is just the bad pathing AI they have, sadly unfixable to bethesda improves it or a mod does it

Your information with regard to the Sentry robot is flawed. Did you think, maybe, the sentry legs are that large by design? Because its like a robot tank and, well, last I checked tanks don't spent much time inside buildings.

I've built 3 sentry bots and not had a single one have issue getting out of the work bench. They are slower than say an assaultron or robobrain bot but no issues with them being able to leave the bench. Maybe you should move it some place that is more open.

With regard to the assaultron laser lighting bug, that can happen and I have seen it but its been in the game since launch, although it has been some time since I have seen it.

Misinformation isn't our friend.

Why thank you, Lazereis. It's nice that you haven't experienced Sentry bots unable to get out of their workbench, because I have. I've moved it to various places, and they still get stuck. Not much of an issue outside of it being unslightly and making the DLC appear more of a buggy mess. Just need to fast travel back and they're free.

This happens to me often.

My workbench is inside the Red Rocket garage near Sanctuary. I had to clear out some things in the room to make it fit but it works just fine for me.

I even put my sentry bots in those guard towers you can build at your settlements. I rather enjoy seeing them standing guard.

Fully upgraded Robot filed to the brim with Lasers, Machine Guns and Rockets *Can't take a step forward off the stairs* "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUU"

Also they appear to lack proper targeting because my Robot insists on not firing at Super Mutants right next to her unless they hit her! It is so annoying Bethesda please fix this bug!.

OP I haven't experienced ANY of these "bugs". No glitches or robots being unable to get out of the workbench. Dunno what to tell you. Just have never seen any of these happen. <shrug>
Only glitch I've experienced is, for some reason, whenever I try to leave the Robco S&S or even walk into that cell, the game CTDs. Tried wiping all my recently installed mods and nothing is changing. CTD whenever I reach the border of that cell or try to do anything in that cell.
UPDATE: Found a reddit thread that mentions the HUDMenu.swf from DEF UI causing the CTD exclusion zone centered around the Mechanist's Lair fast travel icon.

Oh I used a lot of stuff upgrading the perfect robot left it in my base to do side quest with others come back and my robot is just a core unit with all my mods missing

I've recently run into an issue with Automatron DLC with my menu options in the workbench being "invisibled", I have two options of areas that I can modify and everything else is is a no option no message issue. I've disabled all of my mods to see if it was a conflicting mod but no, it's directly on my save. :/

I was playing with the automatron dlc and created one robot and tried to replace the head with an assaultron head but for some reason, the robot flies off to the air then dies. do you guys know what to do

I just fnsined this DLC again last night, storyline worked fine all the way through, but the mechanist lair has a serious performance problem, when I look a certain direction it drops to 20fps and glitches out causing me to see the white void and other areas of the level in the distance.
Faust Aug 4, 2018 @ 5:27pm
i think the problem was that i used too much console commands
