Yep. You can use it as your secret lair, for example.
It's pretty much this. You can scrap all of the walkways around the build area and completely open the whole place up if you wanted.
Except that you can connect the Lair into your supply net, making it possible to have people live there. Other than that, its just a little reward for solving the quest, I suppose. As you say, its just meant to be a fun thing to have, nothing awesomely spectacular.
Prison.
Wasteland Workshop battle arena.
Also, Commonwealth's strangest destination for Bunker Hill merchants (well, maybe ties with Spectacle Island).
This... The ability to hook it into your network (unlike Homeplate) actually makes it quite worthwhile as a settlemnt...
Just make sure your other farming settlements are producing enough excess food to feed any settlers you send there...
just be sure that the person ya send on supply lines is well armored, I had a few get killed just cause I sent them in original outfits
Yeah, but for what purpose? Just to watch a bunch of robots walk around? I did create a robot to work as a provisioner. Now I have access to building materials. I guess I'll just see what kind of home I can build. Maybe I'll replace all my provisioners with robots. I just can't think of any good reason to bring humans here. Just for shops?
Haven't tried it myself, but apparently you can assign robots to shops etc... So maybe place a few shops, a scrap bench, and just have a few extra bots roaming around...
It should generate you a few caps, along with a small scrap bonus, without needing food etc...
There's no reason to move humans there unless you want them to be idle, because you can't build
- crops
- shops
- scavenging stations
- guard posts
I don't remember checking for artillery, but I doubt that's an option, either, because... well, indoors without windows.
That covers every possible job. There's nothing for a settler to do other than sleep, eat/drink imported stuff, or get in your way.
