Infinite load screens
For whatever reason, Fallout 4 has suddenly become almost unusable because while playing it will eventually get stuck loading forever. The slides continue to change, so it's not freezing. It just never gets back to the game. One time it loaded for 2 days straight. It's very inconsistent too. Sometimes it loads, sometimes it just takes a long time, sometimes it's super fast, sometimes it won't load at all.

At first I thought it was just a bad save file. I suspected it had something to do with quick saves, so I stopped using them. That appeared to work for like a day, and now it's doing it again. Talk about frustrating. Every time it happens, I have to do a hard shut down because there's no way to kill the game unless I play it in windowed mode, which doesn't hide the alt-control-del window.

What I've tried:
Changing settings, turned off Nividia streaming service, unchecked keep game in sync, verified game contents using steam.

System Configuration:
Windows 10H
Intel i5-4440 CPU 3.10GHz 3.10 GHz
8.GB RAM, GeForce GT 635
Current res, 1920X1080, 60Hz

DUDE Im having the same problem. I thought it was my mods not being compatible with Automatron, for some odd reason. But that wasnt it. I literally cant fast travel anywhere and im about to lose my mind. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ deleted my level 55 character to restart a game just to see if that would work, and, suprise, it didnt. Have you figured out a way to fix it, or am i just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ until an update perhaps?

No luck yet. Maybe if we can figure out what is common between us we can isolate the problem. I'm not using any mods on mine. I'm only about 17 to 20 hours in. The problem for me first started after the 10 hour mark. It worked fine for a while, and then one day it started doing this, and it seems to be happeing regularly now. I haven't even got Automatron yet. My character is still at level 10. I just got the game barely a week ago. Anybody who is experiencing this should post here so we can figure it out.

I have the same problem, sometimes i can play for a whole day and it'lll happen once other days it's every door i open i just get endless loading screens, occasionally it just takes five mins or so, or more often it loads in quick, tried everything you have too, streaming service, verified cache, no steam cloud syncing. It's infuriating, haven't had this issue with any other fallout game, i'm not running mods either. It's not just open doors sometimes fast travel etc as well. I've tried to figure out some kind of commonality i.e. is it autosaving as i go inside/outside, weapon i'm using, size of area i'm loading into etc but it just seems utterly random doesn't seem like there's any correlation except it is loading...

Look at my system specs I included in the OP and see if there are any system similarities that may be causing some kind of conflict. I'm going to try turning off antialiasing and maybe some different resolutions as well, -- oh and I'm using two screens if that helps. Maybe that's it. Who knows? If you figure out anything please post here. I'll do the same; check back periodically.

I tried creating an exception in Norton security suite but it didn't have any effect. It worked the first time I booted up the game, but then I was killed and then it tried to load again and got stuck. I decided to pull up the task manage and snap a picture. This is what it looked like: Photo example imgur [i.imgur.com]

Just because you meet those requirements doesn't mean your computer is up to running the game.

Make sure your video and sound drivers are up to date.

Make sure you have windows dedicate your memory to only the game.

Make sure you clean your hard drive, get rid of temporary files, and anything your not using, and try running the windows hard drive defragment program.

Make sure your not running any background programs, only your Internet Security.

But even after you do all of that I'm afraid windows 10 May be your problem.

Windows 10 has been causing a lot of problems to a lot of different games.

Thank you. I suspected it may be Windows 10. I'll do what you said and post back here when I'm done.

Sometime the numbers of your save can cause this too.
Check your save folder, back up the folder first.
Then delete all the save except 2 or 3 the newest one.

Fantastic idea! I forgot about that. Probably a lot in there because I stopped using quick save. I wanted to have multiple saves in case one of them wouldn't load, so it's likely very cluttered.

i found the save thing useful i'm not using windows 10, my specs are fine, the weird thing i find is it mainly seems to lock into endless loading when i enter a door out of the wasteland into a building, city, etc; which is weird cause you'd assume loading into a larger area would cause more issues... it really feels like its some kind of file retrieval error in the software or something similar.

WAT

2 days straight?! Are you serious? You mean the game kept on loading screen for 48 hours? If that is true, you may have serious issues with either your disk or your memory chips.

Load times are longer than average in Fallout 4, yeah, but 48 hours loading stuff is a crazy amount of time.

I previously posted that I had solved this issue, but that is not the case. After hours of trawling through these forums and bethsoft forums, it is painfully clear to me that this is a permanent issue that does not affect enough users to warrant fixing. No refunds after all, why spend money that you've already made, right Bethesda?

Having this problem badly now. I rarely had any issues with the game. But all the sudden my load screens load infinite. I'm level 30 on my survival run and i'm not using any mods. I've spend 4 hours trying to get from one place to another. :(

Guys, try alt-tabbing. Changing the games priority and back again should help.
