I just presumed it was mods messing with the game because I decided to play it with all my mods on, and it had been fine up until that point.
Yup. This works. It's just getting hung up for some reason. Reloading kickstarts it.
console command (without quotes):
"setstage 010010f5 900"
"getstage 010010f5" for confirmation
"tcl"
close console command
fly to the mechanist chamber find the monitor at the far back behind the 3 mini robobrains
open console command
click on the monitor to get the id
type "unlock"
close console command
unlock all 3 security doors
speak to mechanist which is isabella cruz
then speak to ada to complete the quest and get the quest xp
done
the only thing you miss out by doing this is the 2nd conversation with mechanist after he has no robots left, where you use charisma to convince the mechanist to stand down, just few xp, no biggie, and if you want to kill mechanist, this way cannot fulfill that
If you use 820 instead of 900 you get that conversation
If you get all three holotapes you can unlock the elevator, ride down into her lair, sneak in and shoot her in the back.
This skips the idiotic "poor widdle me! I'm just a helpless wittle girl who unleashed robotic death and horror on the commonwealth and am so fuggin' arrogant I did my best to murder you rather than hear you mansplain that I fugged up!" talk.
This is now my SOP because fighting all those robots gets so repetitive.
The only good feature of the Automatron DLC is that there's roaming robots with a couple of fusion cores in them. After awhile you learn where to hunt them like South west of ArcJet
