Solution for A New Threat Bug
So like everyone else I had thre same problem that everyone else is having with "search Robobrain" part of the quest. i think it has something to do with Ada being customized before you are asked by her to build the work bench. so i reloaded a save from before I started the dlc grabbed Ada and ran straite into general atomics and killed robobrain. i was able to grab the item and the quest moved on.

this isnt the best fixIi know but it works for now till some one finds a better one.

For now, until someone figures out what is causing it...(seems to happen to people with and without mods...and has also been reported by someone playing the PS4 version, so it's def' a Bethesda screwup) console in:
SetStage 01000801 2400
that will skip to the next quest target.
Might have to save, quit, restart to make sure the achievement tracker turns back on...

This was the console command that finally got me past the robobrain stage--Thanks much Jedia!

This was the command line that did it for me:

setstage DLC01MQ02 2400

Now for the terminals in the final area...seems some of them don't even have anything assigned to them (first room) and the very last one you have to use to actually finish the quest has a collision error. I was able to fix it by hopping into and out of a suit of power armor right in front of it...but you can also just tcl and it'll let you use it.

Thanks, that command worked for me, the "SetStage 01000801 2400" command didn't work probably because my game is modded.

This isn't the problem, I haven't modified Ada yet I'm getting this problem. Picking up the Mechanist Device triggers nothing, and I tested something, going to put the item in Ada's inventory revealed it was invisible (now that I think about it, probably just because it's a quest item)
I think the problem lies in an error in code, or a symbol out of place that's screwing the code up, or They're using the wrong version of Ada for the quest trigger.
All companions have multiple versions, for example: An NPC version and a Companion version, I think the quest might be checking up on the NPC version instead of the companion version.

after beginning the Questline and acquiring Ada I removed her from my party and went back to get her after the Campaign was finished. This could also be it.

My problem is the game refusing to acknowledge that I've built the Robot Workbench.

I'll double check that this afternoon, sounds like a known bug from fallout 3/Skyrim...possibly the game is not recognizing you as having hired Ada as a follower during the first meeting event. If kicking & rehiring can force the trigger to the next stage, we may have found the source of over half the bugs in this DLC.

I wanna confirm the bug on xbox one. It really sucked because I ended up accidentally getting involved in the caravan fight on my way to kill a courser for the railroad. Then about twenty levels later and having gotten the "ultimate peaceful" ending I decided I wanted to proceed in the DLC only to find it bugged. :L Good job Bethesda.

I found out that by storing my workbench and then placing it again, it allowed me to continue on in the quest.

Thank you soooo much. Spend an like 5 hours ingame to find a solution and an hour online to find this solution.
I was in survival mode and couldn't go back to a previous save.
And even if I could this solution saved me for over 10 hours of gameplay.

I can confirm this also worked for me, after entering the command and exiting the console I got the prompt to install the radar beacon - many thanks for this.
