^^This fixed the issue for me, too.
Thanks I'll try that out.
I try & send a follower I don't want anymore to my strongest settlement.
Robots do not behave normally in the companion system. Usually, recruiting a human or dog companion, dismissing them and re-recruiting the robot companion fixes that.
-->Are you useing a companion mod? For some reason either the mod is set like this, or it breaks the script. I tried the one mod that lets you have a robot plus dogmeat, and I ran into this very issue with the robot. I had to disable the mod, then have the robot destroy itself to get it to release.
I also used other companion mods and had problems getting rid of default companions and stopped useing those. One of the issues was I couldn't asign Cogeswell any place I choose. I was force to disable him to get him released.
I had too many problems with these companion mods, and I won't use any in which you have to use the consol, kind of ruins the game game play for me. The only one that works right so far in use of in game dialog is man's best friend regarding dog meat. It is the only one that works right. You can send him any place, or take him with you and your companion. I never had issues with this one. Can find this in the regular mod list for Bethsada net provided in the game menu.
1. open up your console
2. click on Ada
3. writhe this in to the console : cf "actor.setcompanion" false false
4. press enter and leave the console
5. send Ada to where ever you want and Enjoy :)
