Survival Mode+Fast Travel+Institute
Has there been any information on how we are going to be able to travel to and from The Institute without Fast Travel in Survival mode?

Same as before...likely means joining the institute unlocks fast travel.
well, you do have that thing they give you, but I imagaion that would be the only thing you could fast travel with, only going into the institute and actually being there to fast travel out I guess...dunno

Yep fast traveling out of the institute makes them a more tempting faction to join.

Since fast-travel is the only way in or out of the Institute, they would have to change the game, make an exception, or leave the Institute out for Survival mode...I'm gonna guess that the Institute will be the exception.

Besides, instantaneous teleportation is totally different than "fast-travel"...they just share the same PipBoy interface. Regular "fast-travel" isn't fast at all (just note the time and date before taking a long trip).

The Institute uses a chip to teleport you there, so there shouldn't be any issue with Fast Travel. Even now, the time that passes when fast traveling to the Institute is only 1 minute in-game time.

What they said about the teleporter. Also, BOS with their Vertibird call in will be a tempting choice.

It would be nice if in this mode joining the Instiute not only enabled fast travel, but added the relay effect to all destinations regardless of whether you're travelling from the Institute.

Teleportation is only possible because of Institute technology. That is why it works when going to or leaving the Institute. It has nothing to do with the PipBoy on your wrist.

What I do when I get to that part of the game, is to use teleportation to travel around by using the Institute as a trasportation hub: From anywhere, teleport to the Institute (in one minute or less), then teleport again to your destination (in one minute or less). In this way, you can travel from any place to any other place in a couple of minutes.

Vertibirds cannot get you to the Institute and regular PipBoy fast-travel takes the same time as walking - it is merely resolved quickly for impatient players.

Of course, speculating about what the devs may or may not do in the future is kind of silly - they can and will do whatever they like. My guess would be that they would likely go with the easiest options that already exist and don't require any extra effort.

Well...I could agree with you, but that would seem kinda silly if they wanted to disable the fast travel in survival. Like, you could use there teleporter to the institute, but if you wanted to leave to a area you would have to teleport out (imo).

See here's the thing, if you are with the Institute you are technically no longer "surviving".
The Institute could and should come with perks related to easier living, because that's part of what they're about.

Even if the relay can't do point to point teleportation, you can easily reason it's done by teleporting you to the relay and then the relay teleports you elsewhere. Now I would say that you should actually have to do this in game, but loading times being what they are it would just become tedious.
Insititue and minutemen sound like a blast combo for survival.

The new Survival Mode is out.
You can fast travel (teleport) into the Institute from anywhere in the Commonwealth but the only place you can go from the inside is the C.I.T. Ruins.

Yeah that's utterly ridiculous and immersion breaking.
I can only assume Bethesda made it this way out of a misguided attempt to "balance" the Institute relay with the vertibirds from the inferior factions.

Yeah. Since you get relayed to more than one place during the main plot on Institute side (not to talk about synth relay granade or synths attacking settlements which get relayed inside) it is immersion breaking that now you can't use the same technology.
