[LIGHT SPOILERS] Doing BOTH Brotherhood and Railroad Institute quests?
Is it possible to do both the Brotherhood institute quest and the Railroad's by using consol commands?

As in build the Molecular Relay with the Brotherhood, get their mission to find Dr. Li, abd then use console cmands to add the "Network Scanner" holotape to you inventory. Then, just use a terminal like you would in the actual quest and proceed from there. Wouldn't that trigger the RR quest like any other quest when you do a step ahead in the order?

No. Theoretically you could go up to the point where you get the quest to destroy the Railroad and then mark it as complete with console commands, but chances are all that'll do is break your game.

Break as in wreck the game completely or just lead to an endless quest line?

Also, can you tell me if you can do Blind Betrayal if you don't ask the Brotherhood to build the Molecular Relay for you?

I don't know for sure. I've yet to play through the Brotherhood questline so I don't know what exactly happens during that quest, and that could have an impact on what damage it might do (if any. for all I know it might work perfectly).

Yeah I just tried. Added the Encrypted Message to my inventory via CC. Tried loading it into the terminal right outside the MR, but since I did BH they gave me their own mission, which is the quest Network Scanner holotape while the CCed item is just an item. Gonna try another terminal but I think the Devs programmed against doing this.

I just tried on the other terminal, the one I originally used, in case it was special. Nothing. Looks like this was an exploit foreseen by the Devs after all, I think they made which ever holotape you get TURN INTO the Network Scanner holotape through quest assignment/activation.

Gonna see if there's a way to CC specific Network Sacbner holotape, but if you don't hear again from me regarding this assume it didn't work.

How about ♥♥♥♥ the Railroad? They dont want to cooperate with the Minutemen, so they are as problamatic as the BoS and the Institute.

You can build the teleporter with any faction you like, at any settlement you like. It is just a device to get into the Institute, you can remove it after your first visit. If you need the holotape later for another faction you can just ask it back from Ingram, Tinker Tom or Sturges.

It's actually more like they know the Minutemen wouldn't cooperate with THEM.

There are potentially people in both. The organizations are not neccessarily mutually exclusive, just dedicated to slightly different objectives.

I'm Minutemen til I die, but honestly I agree with Deacon's assessment of the situation. The Minutemen are primarily made up of the common people of the Commonwealth, and those common people have basically made up their minds that synths are the enemy and should be eradicated. Even as the Minuteman General if you were to announce to your troops that you were ordering them to start helping synths, regardless of the situation, you'd end up with a mutiny on your hands and even in the best case scenario you'd probably have to slaughter most of your troops and rebuild from the ground up AGAIN.

To a degree but the railroad is also made up from the people of the commonwealth. A person could foreseeably be in both even if the rest of the organization has differing opinions. The minutemen are simply a militia and not a 'closed' military organization like the BoS, they could be a minuteman to protect their home/family as well as being an agent of the railroad.

As for the generals dilemma that possible (even likely in my view) outcome but I think it's important to recognize the difference between actively helping synths (railroad), reacting to threats in the commonwealth (minutemen) and pro-actively seeking to destroy threats (BoS). The minutemen don't seem to pro-actively hunt down synths otherwise they would simply be a lower tech version of the brotherhood.

Some minuteman may share the BoS attitude and some might have railroad sympathies, it depends on the person/community.

Oh absolutely, but just because they don't hunt them down actively (at least not on my orders anyway ;p) that doesn't mean they wouldn't shoot on sight. Think of it like colonial era racism. A farmer may not be looking for escaped slaves, but if he sees one he's sure as ♥♥♥♥ gonna shoot it dead. Deacon's story about the lynch mob may have been fake, but my money says things like that actually happen.

That being said, the two factions most certainly can coexist, the Railroad just has to stay secret and underground. Even my main character, whose entire everything is based around being the Minuteman General, is a member of the Railroad.

I agree pretty much entirely, my point was that the organizations are not diametrically opposed as say the Railroad/BoS. The somewhat open nature of the minutemen would allow for a diversity of views even if the majority view is that synths are 'lesser/dangerous/whatever'. You can see some very strange bedfellows in militia and partisan groups.
