3rd Person Cover mechanics mod!
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10875/?

Haven't tested it myself (waiting for CK before I start modding) but have been browsing for interesting mods and found a mod which allows for 3rd person cover mechanics, and thought other people might be interested also...

FINALLY
I expected more Deus Ex Human Revolution cover systems, but this works.
I'll report back to see how well it works.

Not really mechanics, as 3rd person cover mechanics already exist, it's simply a matter of hiding behind crap. What this is, or seems to be at least, is application of existing animation suites that the Raiders/Humanoids use. It's cool from a visual stance, but offers no advantage outside of making the game a hell of a lot cooler to stream.

You can even already vault over things in game, it's called jumping lol.

Well, technically, you're correct... But this apparently allows you to 'peek out' from cover, like enemies do... Something you can't presently do in third person...

Cover mechanics exist in first person, but for cover to work in third person, as it is presently, you either have to actually leave cover, or hope that you're not shooting through your cover due to the firing line tracing from the tip of your weapon, to the point of impact, as opposed to straight down the targeting sight...

Like I said, I'm not using mods yet, so haven't tested it myself, but it looks like this will actually allow for proper third person cover mechanics...

EDIT :

This is exactly what I was meaning as to the difference...

The mod completely dissapeared after loading the game for the second time, and I couldn't exit the config, either.

Hmmmm... Work in progress I guess... Was actually surprised to see it already, before the CK was released...
