Nuka world, Open season quest.
Why is open season quest just so stupid? Like basically you accept one of the trader's request of taking out all the main bandit leaders in Nuka World.
You clean the entirety of Nuka World and yet nothing happens after?

Like the the traders who are slaves don't get better clothes? The esthetic stays the same as if these people really like the bloods and guts raider vibe (despite dreaming of being free).

No minutemen involved either, basically take out Nuka world, make a main hub there or something?
Like you know how they did it with Far harbor where you could basically inform the Brotherhood of steel to help you with DIMA and the synths.

Nuka world is just boring tbh it doesn't add a lot of content or story either.

yes, it sucks.

the least they could have done is have the traders move to the other parks or ask you to accompany them and clear the area, thereby allowing you to experience the quests related to each park without having to do it for the raiders, or go exploring yourself. and then turn on the lights.

The main thrust of the DLC is aimed at providing a way to play raider, so the alternative of fighting them through Open Season is relatively short. That said, you don't miss as much as it first seems, since you can still clear the five parks that make up most of the initial (and most unique) part of the raider questline on your own.

It is also a longer experience if you complete the entire raider questline before accepting Open Season and effectively do everything. The downside is that you'll permanently lose the ability to have Preston Garvey accompany you as a usable companion if you join the Minutemen before it (he'll accept a former raider changing their ways, but not a Minuteman who betrays his duty).

The traders not changing anything is definitely just sloppy work. They take off their slave collars and that's it. They don't start wearing Nuka World clothes (a missed opportunity), or remove any of the raider decorations, or even occupy single additional inch of just Nuka Town USA. You're left with a lifeless area occupied only by raider corpses.

The parks themselves are fun to clear out, and the general worldspace of Nuka World gives you an exploration vacation from the Commonwealth, but it's not a place I'd go back to a lot. Even in the raider questline, once the parks are cleared all the action moves over to invading the Commonwealth.

I mean knowing the minutemen exist and the fact their biggest enemy is raiders to me the Open season quest is kind of a missed potential generally speaking.

I completed the main missions with 1 character. So you know I kind of find it sad that if you play with your second character and choose the other way and not be a raider there is no much change or reward to it. You simply are left with an empty map with nothing to do.

To be fair it would have been nice if they made it possible to have more life in that area that's all I am saying.

I use Nuka-World to farm weapons and ammo for my settlers.

I'm using this mod to populate the parks with settlers, traders, travellers and main faction members after finishing Open Season:

I don't much care about settlement building, so once I've exterminated the raiders, explored the map, turned the power back on and finished Sierra Petrovita's quest, I have had my fun and am ready to return to the Commonwealth.
Nuka-World is a nice diversion, a little vacation if you will. The best part for me is all the Nuka-cola recipes. Making all the variations and then having Drinking Buddy crank out ice cold versions is a treat.. :)
Blame cashout 76 for that.
