How to build cages?

I cant find the build cage option anywhere in build mode, where should it be?

I have no mods installed

Do you have the appropriate DLC (Wasteland Workshop) installed? If I remember right, the cages are all in their own tab in the build menu, near the end.

If you have it installed and you have no mods, you could try verifying the game files. That sometimes helps. (Right click the game name in your list of games, go to Properties, Installed Files, and Verify.)

Yeah found it, it was in the raider menu. How do i start farming fertiliser from brahmin?

you need if im not mistaken a brahmin feed tub and capture brahmin

I believe there's a ton of fertilizer at the mr handy mutfruit farm that you can just take after you finish your quest. Just in case you need a large amount to start with.

also underground workshops such as vault 88 wont have the cages available idk why but thats just how it is

I know. If you have a settlement beacon you get not just settlers but Brahmin, but not in Vault 88. Brahmin can pick up the signal out in the commonwealth, but not in Vault 88.

You don't need the feed tub to get brahmin or fertilizer. That just keeps them in a single location in the settlement instead of roaming around. While you can capture brahmin, they can also show up with new settlers arriving at the settlement or you can buy them from the randomly encountered merchant.

You mean capture with the Brahmin cage. Is there no way to go up to a rad cow, and get it to join your settlement? Perhaps with the Animal Friend perk under Charisma?

Yeah, capture with a cage. Which isn't really a capture anyway, as the things the cages get are generated. They don't capture already existing things. There is no way to get brahmin or other creatures for your settlement with Animal Friend.
