How many Industrial Water Purifiers to get rich?
Trying to make enough money to get the full recon marine armor set in far harbor, and heard farming industrial water purifiers makes a lot of money. How many do I have to make though to make a good profit at the very least? I have 6 right now in the settlement i am focusing it on.

6 is pretty good, maybe aim for 10, at 18 even my low Charisma character empties out all the vendors in Far Harbour.

I got 18 regular Water Purifiers in Longfellow's Cabin that I sell in Far Harbor and I kinda get all the Caps from Brooks's Shop, the Doc in the back, and the Bar every 2 days. 6 is a good start, just remember you got to take out the Purified Water out every day or it won't refill. Remember when you go sell the Purified Water to Brooks's Shop, you can buy more Junk to make more Water Purifiers and Generators to power them.

After you built it, it's all profit, but how much depends on your Charisma. At low Charisma you get about 10 Caps selling a bottle of Purified Water (that's my current character), at the max 10 Charisma i think it becomes 20 Caps. And IIRC the only thing you got to buy is the Helmet in the Recon Marine Armor, but the price of that will be based on Charisma, too.

Remember your Settlers drink the Purified Water, too, and it's kinda odd; you don't get exactly 10 for every Purifier. There's always some overflow/wastage.

At the very minimum 5 Industrial water purifiers, and in a settlement where there are no settlers is best, just collect it everyday and put it in a container, just be mindful that it puts a hit on your carryweight when carting it, you can also make jet with plastic and fertiliser as its another source of income and wont affect carryweight very much.

If its something you are only going to go collecting every now and then, more is better because production stops entirely once you have a certain (very low) amount in the workbench already. If you are going to be collecting it often (and placing it into some container other than the workbench or selling it immediately), you can get away with having far fewer pumps.

And if you are going to be farming lots of water, do it at an unpopulated settlement. Each unit of food/water in a settlement, counting both produced and stored, increases the chance of a random settlement attack. Unpopulated settlements, however, never generate such attacks.

Haha I may have been making my water at the castle. Any good settlement recomendations for that.

Plenty of room for purifiers on the seaside. There are mods for cleaning up and restoring the walls and even opening up the tunnels underneath. Crops can go on the wall tops, same for windmills.

Spectable island tons of water all round, if you dont build a settlement lol
The Dalton farm settlement in Far Harbor has a lot of open water space if you want to expand your water farm to multiple regions.

The number you need depends on how much you want to spend. 5-6 is good to start. Maybe get a bit more when you go on a spending spree, but ultimately you don't need a lot when you get into just buying ammo for instance.

Use Uncapped settlement surplus mod to get rid of that limitation. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12430

Makes your life a lot easier. don't have to put stuff in a box anymore. It also makes it so water accumulates in every settlement without your need to visit. So you can use the water from one settlement for selling and the water from others (if you have the local leader perk and provisioners) to craft stuff.

well, I have 271 full recon armor set, it was 800~ caps a full set.. if i recall correctly. I stocked 8 for each settlements and one for me and my companions.

There are unique head, arms and chestplate parts for it.. but not legs. those are expensive. it was 10k or alike in my game (per parts)

I dont quite recall how i got that much of money.. Because i bought 5k 46-72c ammo too (this was the name i guess) before leaving the far harbor.

ah yes high charisma + trading magazines + selling chems and ammo. not water duh ;)

why not get = Brahman to make fertiliser (crap) + plastic and combine these at a chemical bench to make jet.

Fast, simple, easy to make and the base materials aren't hard to obtain.

Also, not to come across as an arrogant ass... you can create a supply line from Far Harbour to main Boston map to access all your resources there. Very useful

Yep, a brahman at a settlement will generate fertiliser for you at a ateady rate. You can meet a lady who wanders around selling them and can tell her to send each one you buy (100 caps a pop) to a specific settlement.

pop, regular ahem fertiliser.

This plus plastic at a chembench = almost insane amounts of Jet to sell to people or use in bartering for junk/deliveries of resources.

If you have to ask, you don't have enough.

One note, is that storing dirty water in workbench, may halt water production, that happend to me.
