Start me up mod not enabling?
I have other mods, and they all work don't conflict with it, so it's nothing with that. But for some reason, this mod just isn't enabling.

If it's enabled there, and not working in-game, then you should ditch SMU. SMU hasn't had an update in 5 years (2018) anyway so you should instead get the "Redux" version, which is still being updated.

If even the "Redux" version doesn't work, you have major mod conflicts or haven't set your F4SE and/or other mods up properly.

You are launching via F4SE? and you've made the custom.ini edits noted below, to enable the game to use mods properly?:

Might be from a mod you got makeing that mod not work

What other mods are you running? If you have anything that affects the same thing - in this case presumably a start-mod that changes anything at all about where or how your character is made or placed on the map the first time - it'll break.

Just because your other mods work doesn't mean that adding another *massively intrusive* mod like a start mod won't break literally everything.

You create a character as normal in the bathroom mirror, then when finished it runs you through the Start Me Up stuff and then asks how and where you want to start. I have used both versions, orig and redux, and they both work, at least for the start. The description page for the redux version lists its incompatibilities.

Nope, it's disabled.

It's not my mods doing anything. I had the bare minimum of mods, (F4SE, Unofficial Fallout 4 patch, which is required, and Start Me Up,) and it wouldn't enable. The mod is disabled, so I guess I should be asking how to enable it.

Which mod manager are you using? That will help determine exactly what you'll need to do. I have no experience with Vortex or MO2, I use nmm/ce still, so for me it'd be different if you use one of the others.

I'm using Vortex, unfortunately.

Make sure you launch the game from your mod manager to activate F4SE. It won't work if you launch it from steam

Thanks for this. Just getting back into FO4 (haven't played yet) and just setting up some baseline mods. I knew I had to do this but couldn't remember exact step. TLDR. Anyway, thank you.
