I'm in the same boat. I already have them, but I do think that they're nice to have. It fuels my completionist tendencies as I try to get all the different shirts when I play a new character.

they support upper body armors, thats what i like about them. and some of them look really nice..

giving you a reason to kill random innocents you come across the commonwealth who is wearing a good one ;)
