Final Secret on a Terminal
Hello Fallout 4 friends. I've read a few times that Todd Howard has said there's still one big secret hidden on a terminal somewhere. I've done my share of Googling, but also wanted to engage with the community too. Does anyone know anything further?

I love super hidden secrets! I wish more games would add this much detail.

Might be good to know when the dates of "when" he said these things you just discovered happened, because more than likely it's just the same idea as always - Main character is likely a synth with built-in vats-like tech.
There was also a bit of fudge with one "secret" that wasn't found at first because the terminal involved was technically in the game but didn't appear until a later patch (or possibly one of the DLC additions) fixed it.

I actually didn't know this existed 'till you bought this up . A quick net search found an old steam thread that indicated the terminal may be somewhere in the Glowing Sea , they wouldn't elaborate any further . someone else also mentioned it also could on a terminal in the Mecanist's Lair .
Thanks for that , you've given some new to find ....................

There are precious few actual secrets around, honestly. The game is almost 8 years old now, it's been torn apart by modders and code monkeys alike for the entire time, data that isn't in the game but had been kept in archived forms for cut content, etc.

I'd find it hard to believe that todd howard even knows how much diving has been done in this game, as most of the time professionals and publishers aren't allowed legally to look at fandom and speculation for fear of actually stealing content and getting sued (which yes, is a thing that has happened.)

The mention of it I can find is from way back in 2016, only 4 months after the game launched. The game is not 8 years old, and people have combed through all the data of the game for one reason or another. I highly doubt there is anything that hasn't already been discovered many times over already.

As far as I know, the only things known about the "big secret" is that a Bethesda employee has since confirmed it has been found, and that no one actually knows just what the secret is supposed to be.

Howard said no one has found it yet.
I wonder if that means that the game reports back to the mothership how we play the game?
I'm sure someone has found it by now.

If such a terminal does exist , it would be most likely be at a location you probably wouldn't think of searching .

I wonder if it's not so much about the location, but an entry on it? Or maybe the terminal itself is modelled different to the others. Not too sure yet, more info required!
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It's close enough to 8 years at this point, given we're in q2 of this year my man. :)

Also note that in development terms the game was in progress for at least 3 years before that release date. Either way, it's certainly super old quotes like this that can still make for some fun searching in the game, if one hasn't played it to the hilt already. (even then... i didn't know there were terminals detailing Kellogg's stuff until approximately 300 hours of play time ago...)

Entirely possible it was just removed at some point in development completely and Todd just wasn't aware.

I wonder if he's ever actually seen any of the hidden weird teddy bear / mannequin / skeleton / weaponry and drug vignettes. >_>

My best guess is that either there really was no secret, and he said it to boost interest (and so possibly sales), or that there really was a secret but it just wasn't as great as he though it was and so we never really paid much attention to whatever it was.

That was supposed to be a "now" not a "not". I blame old age (I'm not that old, but I feel like it at times so I'm blaming it on age anyway) and tiredness.

The secret in the Institute Terminal, that adresse how some Coursers can use VATS n' stuff, was updated / added in one of the game updates (cant remember when). This led to huge fan speculation and evidence search that the Player was indeed a synth.

I feel this has been thoroughly debunked.

If there is something unfound in the Glowing Sea, i would die to know it.

I tried going through the history of patch notes for Fallout 4 to pinpoint exactly where/when this was added, however many of the links were broken. :(

No, Juicehead claimed that was the secret terminal Todd Howard mentioned at the 2019 E3 and he was the first to find it in like 2021, despite the 2015 release. You can search Steam and find DouglasGraves arguing with the community over it in like 2016. Basically Juicehead full of brahminshit claiming to be first to find it.
