Data Folder.
I did a fresh install and now there is no data folder for vortex to access. Any advice?

A regular install includes a Data folder. The base game & DLC archives are kept in there.

Perhaps Vortex just needs it's directions to the game folders reset? Or does it need you to define the work folders where it'll keep & organize the mod archives?

There is no data folder in the fallout 4 folder where it usually is.

The base game itself has like 20 data files (like "Fallout 4 - <something>.ba2") in the Data folder. Each of the story DLC has 6. Etc. If you don't have a Data folder in your Fallout 4 folder, it's not installed.

edit: are you sure you're in the right folder? From Library, right-click on Fallout 4 > Manage > Browse local files ?

These are the errors vortex is giving me, any help would be great.

Some downloads were not finalized

Failed to set game mode

Deployment not possible

Mods can't be deployed

Deployment method no longer supported

Invalid primary tool

Loose files may not get loaded

You need to fix the ini file so that you can load loose files, then. That's probably what's been forgotten when you did whatever you did to your files... The ini will be gone along with anything else on a reinstall, and whatever changes needed MUST be done in the ini BEFORE you start using the launchers...

How do I do that?

Just a question - have you used Vortex successfully before this reinstall?

I could have sworn that the modern mod managers do a lot of this stuff for you. I know that even the old ones for Fallout 3 & Oblivion would set Archive Invalidation for you.

It might I just don't know how to use it. I'm learning but its slow going. How do I go about redefining the parameters it needs, any idea?
