Need help clearing up some issues with console commands
I started using console commands mainly to respec my character and change my build.

This included getting the Strong Back perk, but when i added that through console commands, the carry weight was increased, but the CW number in my inventory didn't update, even after restarting the game.

Didn't think much of it, tried forcing the number to change with player.setav carryweight to the correct value given by the Strong Back perk, but now the number changes back and forth every time i open the inventory and i get randomly over encumbered, even with barely any items.

That was the main issue, a smaller one is that adding perks like Science! doesn't let me craft only SOME items/mods, even with the correct ingredients. Seems random.

Did you use player.addperk 0004B24E?
And do you have strength of least 6, you need that for Strong Back?
Player.Setav Strength 6

How many ranks of each perk did you add, and did you add them in the correct order? Each rank of the perk has its own ID, and you can get odd results if you don't add them to the character in the same order that you'd normally receive them. For example, if you want to give yourself rank 3 of Strong Back, you should first add the perk ID for rank 1, then the ID for rank 2, and finally the ID for rank 3.

If you otherwise meet the perk requirements, it's simpler to give yourself some extra perk points with the command below and spend them normally:
cgf "game.addperkpoints" X
Typed exactly like that (including quotes), but replacing the X at the end with the number of perk points to add.

No, i just skipped to the perk rank i wanted. If that's whats making the game act wierd, that would explain it. I'll reset my perks and try doing it that way then.

You can't do that. You need to add all the ranks of the perk in order.

Yep, that worked. I feel silly after just skipping to the perks i wanted, but hey, now i know. Thanks for the info.

SETAV is not forcing. It is set until the next area you travel too.
FORCEAV is forcing and it is permanent until you change it via console.
