Make sure that your game is in the right place, working correctly, before using mods.
Make sure that you have all the requirements for the mod installed and working correctly.
Put the mods in the correct load order using your mod organizer.
More than likely you don't have them in the right order, or have forgotten to check for those requirements. Read all the bug reports, forum posts, and stickies on all mods you use. Every time.
