a lil late but if its just the hair ya got a problem with you can enter console by pressing " ~ " then clink on curie and you should see her code. then type slm followed by her code - for example it would look like slm 102249 . this will open up the looks menu like the player character and is good for the play-through.

Can I change curie skin color n how do I learn to mod?

You cannot change hair or skin colour on Curie, its the same for settlers using slm it will not work, you have to clone her in vanilla to change anything and that's an iffy procedure as well. I know cause I tried it and yeah it worked on mine but not before I had a screen tear of curie clone which then normalised to change appearance. That's why there are mods for her just to set the record straight.

I just put her in a sequin dress with reflector sunglasses.

This is typical of most "NPC appearance" mods, because they are generally based on "better character" mods like hair/eyes/skin/makeup/etc. So yeah, they have a bunch of requirements.
But for many people that use them, they already had most/all of those other mods installed just for themselves. /shrug

I use the "Audrey Hepburn as Curie" mod, for Curie.

i forgot she was a synth so i summoned her "default form" player.atme ff00729e then used the "tai" command on the copy to keep her from running away. customized the copy and switched the hair then disabled said copy. then used slm on curie which didnt change her appearance at first but once i switch to the hair i chose with the copy the appearance changes from before took. tho she did disappear briefly while cycling her hairs so i dont know how stable it is or it was a physics bug.
