Next-gen update?

So was there any news about this? We're in september already and i haven't heard anything about it.

No New at the moment. Much of the PR right now is going to starfield. maybe news later down the months.

IIRC, the original announcement was made before they had to postpone the release of Starfield to September.
My guess is the Fallout 4 update has been postponed as well, especially since the Starfield release will require a lot of attention in the first weeks.

I understand that, honestly i would not even be angry about it, it's after all FREE update but they could at least annouce delay or something not just stay silent :/

They can't announce a delay if they don't know whether the update will be delayed or not. Announced intent just covers 2023 and there are 3 months left.
They are not sitting silent- they are all occupied with polishing and supporting the upcoming Starfield release because it's the absolute priority for their parent company publisher Microsoft. F4 Next-Gen update is an inconsequential freebie for an old game, Starfield is the most important event in many many years.

I figured it would be timed to release so it would coincide with the Fallout 4 TV series. But that is delayed now until 2024, so maybe the next gen update is delayed along with it.

I suspect they don't know themselves. Starfield seems to be in good shape, so I'm optimistic about them being able to divide more attention and resources to this thing.

Starfield is a disappointment from what is saw.
Cant wait for FO4 update to replay.

Yeah, it lacks that "magic". Feels like a game designed by committee and the exploration seems boring.

Even if they do update it anyway, it's Bethesda, so it'll be a lazy update and the missing parts will be forced on the mod makers.

In fact, Starfield even forced mod makers to deal with the DLSS.

next gen update will be texture upscaling that will be a downgrade compared to anything on the nexus, a slight lighting overhaul that will be a downgrade vs anything on the nexus and some trash DLC that will waste space on your harddrive

these kinda "upgrades" are aimed at console tards and are easily thanks but no thanks to PC users who can figure out how to installed some texture files from a mod site

the texture upgrade dlc for Skyrim LE still has bugs and missing files and requires a unoffical patch 10 years since it was shat out
