Give it a try..
But the sad truth is that past level 50 your damage will stop to increase while the mobs get more and more health with every level. There are two ways to solve this:
1. ECO https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/55503
Allows you to further increase weapon damage via an ingame mod system
2. Remove level scaling https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41255
Mobs will stop leveling at a certain point and their health won't increase further.
You would be (mostly) wrong. Those magazines only boost critical damage (not normal attack damage), and normally you can not critically hit outside of VATS. The only exceptions would be when using the overdrive chem, or the last rank of the Basher perk. (Sneak attacks count as critical hits in the pipboy counter, but aren't actually critical hits for any other other mechanics).
And as a side note, Tesla magazine is totally useless without a mod to fix it. It applies to weapons with a specific keyword, except that keyword isn't actually used by any weapon in the game.
I don't believe me either. I am incredible, aren't I? I mean, I thought those comics upped the damage, and some do but the vast majority only add critical hit damage. With the perks under luck and agility a plain vanilla weapon (not a mod weapon) becomes suitable for higher levels.
VATS with a gun is... ehhh... most of the time it's better to manually aim.
As to the drugs.. Psychobuff, Fury, Overdrive, Bufftats, Whiskey.. uhhh.. i don't think ive forgotten any... ; anyways, use those and then VATS with a melee weapon = profit?
if anything took more than 1 shot i'd be surprised
This time, I'm essentially using nothing but Spray n Pray.
There's ZERO need for me to use VATS with this build. None. At all. The only time I have had to use it is if I'm defending a settlement and don't want to riddle my settlers with explosive rounds and turn them against me (which I have learned not to do thankyou very much lol), which means I swap to a lesser weapon and use VATS.
