Can you build on Spectacle Island? because I can not.

Did you do the whole thing with activating the things there, killing the mirelurks that show up, and then activate the workshop to actually get it as a settlement? You can't just go there and start building right away.

Cant activate the workshop, killed 2 mirelurks and king and queen mirelurk have I missed one??

There's a note you have to follow, basically.

Be aware that the island is VERY large, and I'd recommend just building on a small portion of it. It doesn't have any bigger settlement build budget than a much smaller spot, and your settlers will wander a LOT around it.

Pro tip:
Build multiple Beta Wave Emitters, spread out across the island.
You wouldn't want your single one get destroyed, recreating Jurassic Park with Deathclaws.
