Report a translation problem
You've already ruled out other mods interfering right (and didn't pull a swifty on Preston)?
bug should be reported on the simsettlements site...
anyway, from my experience this bug happens more often when you are at the scene in PA, hold a weird weapon and something else script heavy is going on.
for this reason i only approach this sequence without PA and my good old 10mm equippd.
Indeed. The Sim Settlements 2 Troubleshooting Guide[wiki.simsettlements2.com] is probably the best place to look for help.
Run SKK's script latency checker and se if there is any script lag occurring.
Because the discussion threads there don't have answers either. And I'm not interested in creating yet another forum account - just to report on a bug that's existed and been documented for at least three years.
Well, you got what you needed.
If you want it to be fixed on all and every possible machines and installments you already know what to do... open a new account and follow the report procedure.
Chances you get Dev attention here are slim to non existant...
It's a well documented issue, and has been for over 3 years apparently.
Explain to me how going through the trouble of creating a forum account is "helping" anyone, myself included in any way shape or form?
And no. I'm not going to consider padding kinggath's search results by giving him more website traffic and another user as "helping"
tldr; you're really obnoxious if you'd think me reporting this does anything other than wastes my time. But that seems to be exactly your objective with your responses.
Nobody forces you to use SS2, just remove it if it not run good with you Loadorder, for me it is stable. Yes, I had some bugs, but almost all bugs were fixed for me in the past.
read my 3rd sentence.
especially the part that contains the phrase "all possible machines and installments".
unless you haven't figured that out... that basically means games that run other mods on top of SS2.
what you do with this information is up to you... its not like i could or would drag you onto their website and force you at gun point to create an account.
For example, SS2 and Decay are flagged by everyone, including vortex - as incompatible.
Fallout 4 nexus mods has over a billion collective downloads. That's a ton of data to collect for compatibility. Tools like LOOT collect data as well as vortex itself, and most mod authors put effort into it.
There's literally people on nexusmods who do nothing but compatibility patches.
What I'm saying, is this is either a bug with SS2, or its an incompatibility with another major, popular mod (based off how long its existed, and how prevalent this issue appears to be). Either way, as far as I'm concerned, it should either be clearly documented which mod is the incompatibility, or fixed.
And since making this post, I've ran into yet another issue with SS2. A full blocker where the main quest replies on completion of a random sidequest to complete. Kinggath's own response on the forums (3 years ago) was "huh, I guess we didn't code this to have any completion path for people who didn't do the random optional side quest" - So this has nothing to do with any incompatibility with another mod - This is confirmed as just being a pure SS2 issue.
Does a mod like Maxwell's World have a terminal settings menu that lets the player force completion a quest, or skip a quest outright, or tales from the commonwealth, or any other major quest mods? No. Because they have quests that are competently designed without holes, and I've never had an issue with. Does SS2 have that option? Yes. Because a ton of the quests don't work correctly. To their credit, at least they have that option - but they wouldn't need it if they actually bothered Q/A testing.
Literally just document any incompatibility with any other mod over 100k downloads. And literally just fix bugs that were reported years ago, such as not allowing players ***who didn't do a random sidequest 5 hours ago*** to continue down the main questline.
YOU go check them all for compatibility.
Better yet, do that when YOU are installing mods. Because that way you only need to check YOUR mods.
Oh yeah lets just conveniently leave out the fact I said "any mod ***over 100k***"
Which accounts for what? a few hundred mods at most?
And FYI, its not a random few hundred mods. It's the most popular few hundred mods.
SS2 has 2 million downloads. You don't have to test ♥♥♥♥. Just use reports from your 2 million users about the other most popular mods out there.
You're pathetic dude with that strawman.
Kinggath has earned well into the 6, maybe even 7 digits of $$$ from sim settlements, with additional thousands coming in per month through services like patreon.
He can fix his own damn mod.
Also, go pound sand saying everyone needs to test their own compatibility. How exactly do you expect people should figure out that SS2 and decay aren't compatible if its not documented anywhere. And that's literally one single example.
That's what they're for.
if you've discovered a conflict it's 100% on you, the individual who decided to slop in so many large mods together, and not any mod maker.
They aren't standing over your shoulder. They're not your mom. Do it yourself.
Are you stupid? What do you think "if its not documented" means?
You clearly can't read. Maybe you should stop commenting on my posts being such a toxic prick.
