Should I kill Overseer Barstow and take command of the Vault 88?

No, just ask her to leave or pick parameters for the experiments that she doesn't like and she'll hand you the keys and walk out on her own.

She is just enthusiastic and mission-focused, no need to kill her. The zone will take care of her anyway. You can rule vault 88 with no bloodshed. Well, her blood anyway. if she has blood.

Given that she's fangirl of THAT Braun... I'd say just do nice test options to make her ragequit from Vault.

I kill her quite often cause I can't be bothered with the vault, I then strip it of its resources and never return.

You don't have to kill her. Just do all the quests but always pick the good parameters. She'll end up leaving in disgust and award you with the overseer's suit.

Pick all the good options (not the ones that hurt or bother your settlers) and you get great buildable settlement happy jobs in return.

Personally, I recommend picking all the nicest experiment options bar one (usually the soda machine's mood enhancer for me, since it has no real downside) so that you can decide at the end whether to dump her or not. No need to kill.

Well, she has just ragequit from my "cheery purgatory" during my playthrough. Dunno. Should I scrap prototype experiments now and install proper versions in my vault?

The finished versions are generally better than the prototypes, but some of them come with a death chance that will occasionally kill off one of your settlers. The power cycle's "additional power production" and "sustained usage incentives" choices, the soda fountain's "appetite suppressant", and the phoropter's "subliminal messages" and "vault monitoring" are the dangerous ones.

Barstow will leave automatically if you picked the nicest option for every experiment (so you're fine if that happened), and will also leave if you don't do enough of the worse ones and fail a speech check to convince her to stay (in which case you might have some of the dangerous choices).

Yeah, I picked nicest and safest options just to make her leave. So I guess I just replace prototypes to keep settlers busy and maintain high happiness, while focusing on doing proper atrium.

I seem to recall that if you personally use a prototype, it will give you a perk. You can only have one at a time though.

there is only one experiment that matters... customer profiling.
she don't cares if you make a power cycle day spa, compete with Nuka-Cola or the best Eye Care this side of the Continent...

As long as she gets nice Pictures of People gambling she's happy.

Desk = Intelligence
Slot Machine = Luck
Bicycle = Endurance
Eye Machine = Perception

and they are permanent until you use another object.
