institute stuff
i notice we have wood structures (walls, floors, ceilings, etc). metal structures (ditto), concrete structures (ditto) and vault structures (ditto). so...
1. when do we get institute walls, floors and ceilings?
2. is there a dlc thats needed?
3. is there a mod thats needed?
4. what is actually needed to get institute build items (walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, etc?

i have seen settlement builds using institute imagery and i would like to try my hand at that.
any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance :)

There are no Institute items in the workshop for your settlements. The only aesthetical items that even come close to Institute appearance is Vault Tec. items for your Vault 88 settlement. If you want Institute stuff, you'll have to get it from mods.

There are a LOT of really good institute items in several mods.

SOE, Settlement Objects Expanded, I use this a lot.

Whisper's Institute Build is a newer one, it's got a few weird things (like the walls being much higher than most, and the stairs apparently not being properly navmeshed) but it does have neat parts.

Homemaker Expanded Settlements is one that gets a lot of use from me too

Missed Settlement Objects does overlap with Homemaker but eh, I like the variety

These Faction Synth uniforms are gorgeous, I often use them for distinguishing which jobs are being done by the settlers

There are probably others, but those are definitely the ones that you'll find have basically all the good stuff. A variety of Zorkaz's stuff includes various wood walls, rafts and such, but if what you're looking for specifically is Institute, those will have you covered.

Homemaker mod has an optional extension to build Institute stuff.

Edit: LOL, Zekiran beat me to it, but when I posted for some reason his post was waiting moderation for 10+ minutes. So I didn't know what he was going to post.

Here is another good mod if you want to build inside the Institute, if that was in your RP's prerogative: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9138

I personally used that above mod to make Father's/my suite look absolute bad ass, within the Institute.

You might need to configure Homemaker using its crafted holotape. There are options for like, bunkers and other things that for whatever reason are 'optional' rather than just present at all times, make sure you've got the options installed correctly.

It's been a while since I configured anything but I know that SOE's stuff can be split up into categories (buildings, decorations, furnishings) or left in one menu option for the whole deal. I can't recall whether Homemaker does that too, I generally just hit it in the menu as a 'has everything in it from power to crafting to structures'.

You have to DL and install the optional Institute mod on the Nexus files page of the Homemaker mod. I think that might have been your problem. It's under older files on the Nexus page. Unlock Institute Objects Patch 1.23 is the most recent version of the sub-mod, I do believe.

The Institute build materials/options are interspersed within the Homemaker drop down build categories. So you have to go throughout all the build menus Homemaker and vanilla to find them all.

At least that is how it works for my version that I use.

hmmm i haven't seen a holotape for Homemaker like i did SMM. do i actually have to CRAFT one or is it somewhere in in my MISC section?

If it's not in misc yeah I think you can recraft it. Utilities at a chem station.
