Robot workbench at Homeplate possible?
I've just unlocked this workbench, and see it's available for construction in Sanctuary, but not at Homeplate, which I use as base (all other workbenches and junk etc.).

Is there a reason it's not possible to build there (big robots?), and is there a recommended mod to make it available there, if it's possible, please?

Thank you! Lol nice name for the mod :lunar2019grinningpig:

Maybe I should wait a bit with installing it, though, since it unlocks all the 'blueprints' without doing the quests. Or can you still do the quests, btw? Not sure I've gotten any yet, but I recently got the robot companion, when the workbench unlocked, but I've put her in Sanctuary.

Homeplate is not a good location to build that, unless your quest insists you do it there which it should not, since it's not a settlement. Player homes don't count for this kind of thing.

Anything labeled as player home is NOT the same functionality as a full settlement. Home Plate, the Mechanist's Lair, and Boston Airport are not vanilla settlements, they are only partially buildable.

I use this one,

To make all three of them functional (except my current run which has conflicts with the airport).

I would never recommend using Home Plate as anything other than a player home, however, since the build area is just atrociously small.

I use Aloot's Home Plate mod that gives full settlement capability. doesn't have much in the way of build area there, though I find that sometimes cozy is good. well worth the caps now.

I usually update it with that mod I have, stick a 'food shrine' that produces 12 or a different food item provider for 20 food production and a water item also mod, and then fill it with school kids and desks from the orphans and other mods i've got. They're safe, don't need much if anything in the way of security or space.

I use the mod '' Home plate Underground Bunker '' . it uses the space under Home plate that gives you HUGE space , once you go down the stairs , you can build to your heart's content if you want to .

thats the one to go if one wants to convert the fake settlements into real settlements.

though.. home plate is tiny and its way simler to send sheffield there and let him run a caravan to either hangman or oberland.

still... its a nice, central location to stash companions

Thanks again, all.

For this playthrough I don't set up lots of settlements, since the first time I played I got too hung up on defending them and building things and didn't get to play the stories. I never did any caravans and such, though. Was that introduced later? Not sure how that works anyway.

I've been setting up Sanctuary though, and have some farming for adhesives there, and put all the companions and others there, but when I do modding and such there is a lot of chatter from them, and lots of whining tbh lol. Some of them are peppering negative comments constantly. So I prefer Homeplate where I can be alone. Not discovered the other locations mentioned yet (maybe Oberland come to think of it, but not used it for anything), but I have a quest from the robot where the Mechanist is mentioned, so I suspect I'll find it soon.

I noticed the robot workbench took a lot of space in Sanctuary, but looks like it will fit in Homeplate too.

Going to see where the mission leads me, then decide which mod I'm going to use once I get to make my own robots :letsgo::steamthumbsup:

caravans can be established between settlements with the first rank of the local leader perk.

nothing too fancy though.

and turning home plate in a settlement can have its very limited uses...
its still extremely TINY.

And thanks for this! Lol that does look cramped!

I have all the benches I need already in Homeplate, against the walls in the 'narrow' area, so I still have that large, wider space on the other side (the fast travel point) I was planning on using for the robot desk. I see no point in turning it into a settlement as I don't want people there. And if there is no room there, maybe upstairs?

Anyway, many thanks again for the tips guys :steamhappy:

with the mod that was linked by zerkiran all the workbenches that are in DC are linked to home plate.
saves a lot of interieur space if you only have to step outside once in a while.

Maybe with Place Everywhere you could place an Eyebot builder on the roof.

Just wanted to say that I ended up installing this mod, and had no problems putting the robot workbench in Homeplate.

Thanks again, all :letsgo::rufussmile:

good on ye, 'cause I tried out that mod I'd suggested from my first post without Aloot's Home Plate installed with a brand new save and that robot workbench didn't show up under crafting category, or anywhere else for that matter. bunk mod. might've been 'cause I had Automatron EyeBot Companions installed though. EyeBot in the pic there is declunkified ADA
