Game launching on the wrong monitor
I've been trying to fix the game for days now, I dont want to download mods and disable achievements so I am trying to play vanilla.

At first I had problems with too much FPS and I somehow fixed it with Radeon Chill and limited it to 120 but at some points of the game that just stops working and doesnt limit so I have tried everything to fix the frame rates.

I have 2 monitors one is 144 and the other 60 so I tried to launch it on my second monitor with launching it windowed and not borderless and just moving it and now my game is stuck on the second monitor no matter what I do and if I run windowed borderless it opens on like half the monitor also, the Customs.ini file keeps setting the line iLocation X=2144 but my monitors are both 1920x1080 and when I try to set it to 0 and make file read only it changes nothing.

I found a way to fix the FPS lock with RivaTuner but now I just cant get the game to run on my main monitor at all even if I set display settings to show everything on main monitor and second is turned off it still moves the window and I cant even see it then.

Riva tuner is usually the cause of problems rather than the solution unfortunately.

If your monitors are that disparate it might be prudent to turn OFF the one that's launching incorrectly and see if that works. You should run the game at 60 fps, so the 144 is likely not where you want it to be.

I would like to run the game on my main 144 monitor and lock the FPS at 120 because then it runs perfectly I just dont understand why I cant make it run on the main monitor after the first time I moved the window

Did your OS update? Were you playing on the correct monitor before now and then suddenly have issues?

Yes my OS and GPU drivers and up to date and the game was running on my main monitor but I had FPS issues so i wanted to try on my second monitor by launching the game in windowed and not borderless and moving the window to the second monitor and then going borderless again and I now I cant move it back

When you're moving the window, do you then *close the game* and open it a second time to move it back? That seems to be the thing that people on the reddit thread I'm reading have had work for them but that WAS 8 years ago O.O

So I found an ini file in the data folder which was a leftover from a mod I think and it was probably the cause of the problem because I deleted it and now my game is launching normally

1) Don't use Radeon Chill, use Frame Rate Target Control & set max FPS there.

As far as wrong monitor, have you tried setting your desktop to the 144hz monitor first ? When you press Identify in Screen Resolution, does it show as Screen 1 or Screen 2 ?

If you want to run 120FPS you must have the 2nd monitor be capable of 120hz or set it to such, otherwise get a new monitor. Presuming both are capable of 1K res..

Frame rate target control doesn't exist anymore that is just Radeon chill now, but it doesn't matter I used RivaTuner to set the fps limit on the game and it works good on my 144 monitor with 120 fps
