So, I've been trying to stop Slag from killing that settler he's holding hostage. I've made no progress and on a couple of games Slage falls into the crucible with that stupid sword.
I've not tried to go in there to get it.
Q1: Anyone here get it out of the crucible?
Q2: Anyway to get Finch Farm w as a settlement without having to kill everyone there if you can't get the Supidkabob sword?
Q3: So far, every time SS kills Slag, Jake shoots at SS, so SS shoot back.
The only way I've ever gotten Stupidkabob and not killed Jake, SS had to basically beg Jake to stand down after letting Slag kill his hostage. Not my game. SS goes in there in his X-01 Mark 6 Power armor and a weapon called "Death", and Jake is, after all, a raider.

Stop angering Jake. There is a specific and very easy conversation with him that allows him to both leave and be your friend, which if you want that sword, you will absolutely want that.

That's *literally how you are supposed to do it*, by talking down the sensible people in the room, and killing the ones that are not reasonable.

Your RP =/= playing within the bounds that the game can actually understand.

Yeah, but I hate those flamers. If you try to talk Jake out of it, you end up shooting blindly at some raider with a flamer. Being killed ruins your whole day if you're playing Survival.
And the other two settlers, one gets killed for sure if you play it that way. Why is Jake more important than the two innocent settlers?

Vats... is not good. You can pick a target on a Mob, and some innocent jumps in and takes the bullet for them. Very annoying. Sometimes counts as a murder.

Yeah. If you do it the way Bethesda wants Slag won't fall in.
I've got over 5000 hours on this game. I don't want to do the same thing over and over, so I make little mini-Quests... get Slag and save the settler is one of those. I'm more in it for the Bobble Head, really.

At to which point Jake is hostile, and an idiot...

I just kill everyone at that point. Slag sometimes ends up in the pot, often doesn't though. If he does, i run round the side and use 3rd person to access Slag's invent. That's usually how i can grab the sword if he falls in...

Falling that, you could use "TGM"?

As to the second point, go back and tell him Jake was an idiot. Settlement becomes yours... (I've never had them turn on me)

Don't know about the 3rd point, if i kill slag, Jake's like "oh god, what did i do?" but he's never turned on me unless i specifically made it so.

But you were able to get Sponge-ka-Bob out of the pot. Humm.... I'll give it a try next time. My other mini-quest is to murder only two people, Knight Rhys and Wolfgang. Killing off a whole settlement of three people living happily in their garbage dump is kinda not what I want to do either.

Just added that in case you REALLY wanted the sword but couldn't get it any other (legit) way..

But, shooting Rhy's is basically a given LOL. (+ he deserves it)
