Settler mod?

Is there any mod to make settler more alive and useful? Like auto assign on a job once they joined the settlement or they use a stronger weapon instead of pipe pistol?

there are mods to make settlements different and more fun, like sim settlements. You can simply talk to a settler and trade inventory and give them a better weapon, but a hint, settlers aren't the main defense of your settlements, you and gun turrets are. But yes, you can trade with settlers and later replace all those pipe pistols with real weapons so they actually can do something in a settlement raid.

But gun turrets number 1, make sure to have plenty of heavy gun turrets about to handle any foes near or in the settlement.

Also. "amazing follower tweaks"
Make any settler a follower, buff thier stats then dismiss them back to settlements.
A bit buggy but mostly works.

As fort weapons u cna lsos give them better weapoins even w/o this mod.

Sim settlements is outdated, I suggest to use Sim Settlements 2, it has better overall systems and a whole questline attached to it.
