Do you have any screeshots?
Some mod organizers use a different ini file than you expect, and place it in equally unexpected locations, it's possible that the mod has permanently changed the ini.
Would probably help to see the effects though, if you have screenies.
But I am seeing something very similar, though not nearly as pronounced, with Conan Exiles. Getting the sneaking feeling this might have to do with my GPU settings, not mods.
Any idea what this is? Graphics drivers are brand new.
Also "new" driver might not be the "right" one, maybe try rolling it back to an earlier one?
I would definitely do a thorough search for "Fallout4.ini" in your PC just to make sure it aint stuffed anywhere.
...and of course after I wrote that I saw the other post, but leaving the info up for people searching and troubleshooting.
I would reinstall the drivers because you are seeing traces of it in other games.
I would also check on your refresh rate the monitor is set at.
What refresh rate would be ideal for FO4, there's another bug concerned with that from what I read. It is set at 60 per display settings, I never fiddled with it. And up until I had no reason to since it worked.
I see it too when I scroll in my windows system settings left panel, where the background is a wee bit darker. The black letters are trailing a bright outline when they move up/down.
It's either something in my AMD software or my monitor settings I am not aware of.
EDIT: UN. FRIGGIN. BELIEVABLE. Just turned my monitor off, to connect to a different PC, then switched back - and my problems are almost gone. It's still there, but only barely perceptible in dimly lit areas (like the crowded "storage" area in the back of Homeplate) where the bright outline is better visible. Looks more like a bad motion blur now.
It seems like hardware issues. Is the POWER supply to that monitor failing?
I had an issue that my HOUSE had circuits that were garbage and the monitor had to be strung out to another plug because it wouldn't even start if I had my computer running...
What helped most though was to thoroughly stomp out ♥♥♥♥♥ godrays with a little ini tweak. After that, game was playable again, so now to run through the damn DLCs in Vanilla, then go modding again^^.
Still, if anyone read this who's got some real insight into these graphics hardware/software issues, I'd greatly appreciate some knowledge dropped on me. Cheers, your friendly neighborhood Semi-Luddite^^
With mods installed, I get 1 ctd about every 80-100h of playtime; in vanilla -as is now- I have not had a single one on this system. But trust me, I know all about FO4 and the "performance" issues, I used to play on an old 2nd gen i7/8gb RAM/4GB GPU system. It sucks ***.
Did you enable Enhanced Sync in drivers ? You should.
Did you cap FPS to 120 ? Necessary to prevent speeding.
MOST IMPORTANT - Disable V-Sync in game.
If all else fails, dry disabling OpenGL/Triple Buffering in drivers.
I am 1000% sure you have literally never used any nexus mods, because son they update because *the creators are right there*.
Updating.
Whenever they can. And when they cannot or don't want to they usually hand off control or open their mod to use by others who WILL update them or CAN.
Please stop spreading dumbassery like this. You are *patently WRONG* about it. Every. Time.
